Quietly, he intercepted the girl bringing Eligre the cider and took it from her to deliver it to the lady herself. Standing a little behind her, he held out the cup, waiting for her to turn and look at him.

[She was, of course, instantly recognizable. He'd be a fool to not recognize her - worse than the drunken ones who might stumble near her. God help any inebriated idiot who tries his luck with Maleficent, though even divine intervention might not be enough. Then again, foolishness should come with consequences, in his book.]

[But he approaches her still, because...well, there is a curiosity there, one he has always wondered about since first hearing of her. She is, in many ways, quite admirable - but there is one above all of which he wishes to speak.]

[For her part, what she will see is someone who might be taken for a scion of nobility - but the clothing, while expensive, is a bit drab. Neat, yes, and the man is cleanly shaved - a miracle in itself in these parts - but faded. The sword at his side, however, is clearly very well taken care of. The tavern is quite lively today, as the colourfully dressed jongleur plays an enchanting tune on his bizarre instrument, the hand-carried musical organ releasing sounds that should not be possible on such a device. It's as if a whole band is playing. As the music reaches a crescendo, the mysterious bard reaches a hand out to a listener- inviting them to join the jolly dance he's been taking part in whilst playing.

There are many taverns in Minas Tirith, from the seedy to the grand, but here on the Soldier's Tier, the Mumak and Keep is unusually lively today, for a wandering elven bard has come town. He sings tales of great battles of long ago, pouring courage and hope into ears of soldiers who have to go out to guard the borders of Gondor against her many enemies, for tomorrow they go to Osgiliath, and there many of them may die. If he notices that one of the many soldiers is the Steward's son, the Captain-General himself, he only smiles and tips his head in a polite bow. His songs ring True, in the smoky alehouse air, memories of battles long past, sketching troop movements in practical, useful ways.

At one end of the bar is a lanky man with a mug of ale, shoulders slightly hunched like he's trying to make himself a little less tall. There's a few bits of hay stuck in his hair, and the general musk of a guy who works in the stables.

He also has a lizard on his collar. A little one, not like an iguana or anything, just a little brownish green guy a few inches long. It seems happy to be warming itself up against his skin.

[ Sarangerel was meant to meet with Granson this evening, but after some waiting and keeping her eyes peeled for any sign of the man, she’s surprised to see he is actually nowhere to be found. In fact, the pub is rather surprisingly quiet for one such night, as she sits there by herself, wondering if she somehow confused the hour or day she was supposed to show. With everything happening, she supposes it’s possible it slipped her mind but…

The Auri girl takes a deep breath and drums her nails on the tabletop. Well. If Granson isn’t about to show, she supposes she’d best make herself more useful by asking one of the Scions if they need any help. Or Lyna, even, since she could probably always use another blade on the perimeter of the Crystarium.

She’s just about to get up and leave when her attention is caught by a familiar silhouette in her peripheral and her head swivels around so that her gaze can snap right to this person. Strange to see him out here, she thinks… Often he’s holed up in the Tower, poring over some ancient tome or some such work that Saran herself could not hope to begin deciphering. She rises to her feet immediately and smiles. ]

[Pandora's ears press tight against the sides of her head as she steps inside; The tavern's an assault on all her senses and the less she has to take in, the better. There's the band, the dull roar of conversation, and the clatter of dishes and mugs. The smells are harder to avoid, especially for her. It's like a hundred people coming up and saying hello at the same time.

[After a few minutes of looking around, she tugs the hood of a cloak up over her head and makes her way toward an empty table in a corner of the tavern. It's a slow process, as everything vies for her attention on the way. She finally reaches her destination and slips into a chair... conveniently close to Sofia, as it happens. At first, all she can do is stare at everything around her. It's pretty obvious she doesn't belong here, and it's more than just the ears and tail.]

[John is very much not from this world. And he stands out more than a little here, but he's got the coin to spare and no one argues with that. Especially not when it's being passed around generously. He's a favorite of the serving girls too, he's flirted with all of them and snuck them coins and he's thoroughly enjoying being the wealthy and adored patron for a while.

It's his vacation from his life, just for a bit. There are no good endings for John Constantine, and while he deals with it well enough, he deals better when there's strong booze and good food and pretty company to act as a buffer between him and his pain. And this place is perfection for that. It's a shiny take on the old time pub, cleaner and with nicer food than expected. Much prettier wenches too. And it's his reward for surviving to this year when more of his friends didn't.

He had no intention of speaking to the blue haired man at the table nearby. He's got enough to do as is, there's still a few wenches to woo, but one of them is handsy. And strong as an ox. She's nearly a foot taller than John is, with arms much thicker than his own, and when she spanks him playfully on the arse for being cheeky he's pushed forward. And he lands more on the other man's table than against it. The drink spills, as expected, and the woman is quick to clean up.] My fault, luv. Sorry mate! Get him another! It's on me as an apology. [John flops down in one of the chairs, and watches as the lady goes to grab another drink for the man.] I think she fancies me.

There's nothing special about it, really, except that it's rustic and quaint with a charm all its own and, at this time of year, the landlord keeps a cask of homemade cider mulling in the back that only the locals know to ask for.

Which is why you'll find Thomas warming his hands around a mug as he sits alone at the corner of the bar, a cigarette smoldering in the ashtray at his elbow.]
