A grungy ninja cowl. A lovebite to the neck. The trinket can be anything, and the proposal doesn't have to be for marriage. All this gift from one to another has to represent is a promise: one that means you take the relationship between the two of you seriously and you want to take things to the next level - whether you openly acknowledge this fact or not.
