THE COMMUNITY SERVICE MEME

Walking the neighbors' dogs. Reorganizing the library books. Cleaning up trash in the park. Community service comes in many different forms. Maybe you're here because you volunteered to be, or maybe you're here because the court sentenced you to 500 hours, but either way, you're ready to do some work. There's just one small thing you hadn't counted on.
Partners.
You're going to be doing the community service in pairs. Get ready for some teamwork.
Prompts
1. Animal Care - You're offering free dog-walking services or fostering a shelter animal. How does that go, especially with two people?
2. Childcare - You're volunteering at an after-school program or babysitting during a PTA meeting. Can you and your partner figure out how to keep the kids from running wild?
3. Cleanup - You're cleaning the library from top to bottom. Or maybe you're picking up used condoms and empty beer bottles in the park. One or the other.
4. Coaching - You've been put in charge of a youth sports team - lucky you. Are you ready for some kids to throw balls at you? And can your team win against your partner's team?
5. Cooking - You're cooking meals for the needy or baking cookies for a public event. You are both good cooks, right?
6. Crafting - You're making quilts to donate to charity, or knitting scarves and hats for needy kids. You do know how to sew, right?
7. Crossing Guard - Kind of a boring volunteer job, but who doesn't look good in a neon orange vest.
8. Decorating - It's time to blow up some balloons, hang some streamers and throw glitter everywhere.
9. Festival - You're volunteering at the local fair. The question is, what are you doing - hosting a game booth? Painting kids' faces? Performing like a circus clown?
10. Gardening - Time to make like Johnny Appleseed and plant some trees and flowers.
11. Mascot - Lucky you - you've been selected as the mascot for a local sports event. Or maybe you've been tasked with entertaining some kids and you're expected to do it while wearing an animal costume. Try not to suffocate in there.
12. Organizing - You and your partner have been tasked with reorganizing the library books, or the files in an office. Fun, right?
13. Performing - Today you'll be bringing some fun into people's lives; you've signed up to perform for a fundraising event. But what's your special talent - singing? Dancing? Magic tricks? What about your partner's talent?
14. Pool - You're volunteering as a lifeguard at the pool. But with nobody having trouble in the water, there's not much else to do besides talk to your fellow lifeguards, right?
15. PSA - You and your partner have been tasked with delivering a PSA to the public. But what's the PSA about? Driver's safety? Alcohol safety? Internet safety? Eco-friendliness? STD prevention?
16. Teaching - You've volunteered to give free lessons to children (or seniors, or regular adults). Can you and your partner work together to teach kids reading and writing? Or self-defense? Or guitar? Or skateboarding?
17. Tutoring - Time to help some kids with their homework.
18. Wash - You're participating in a car wash fundraiser. Or a dogwash.
19. Yardwork - You'll be working together to mow lawns or rake leaves. Exciting.
20. Wildcard - Got your own community service scenario you'd like to threat out? Go for it!

Re: K-2SO | Rogue One | OTA
So. I am. Unqualified. For this mission. I can sew. I can cut cloth with a template, I figure. But I don't know the patterns.
no subject
Well, this is a socially awkward situation.
[ He stalks over and drops the entire pile on the floor between them. ]
The patterns are large squares. I assume you're familiar with those.
no subject
[Bly surveys the pile.]
I have encountered squares before. Know how to find them in an oblong too.
[He disentangles one section of fleece, and begins to fold it corner to corner so that the fold assumes a diagonal, thus showing the square.]
no subject
[ "Deadpan" doesn't mean much when it comes to droids, admittedly. But K-2 does his best. He turns and lopes back to the supply closet for a second load, and the scissors. ]
no subject
[He folds a few more lengths of fleece to square rhem up while waiting for scissors]
[Ripping fleece usually renders it not good for much]
no subject
Here are the full instructions. [ And he folds himself down to the floor on the other side of the pile, projecting a diagram into the air as he does so. Snippily, ] Far too complicated for standard organics, apparently.
no subject
You know some people can't measure depth by sight? Apparently it's a "knack".

a) It's a 'punishment', because certain people have bullied him into helping out in a way that does not involve mortal peril.
b) He actually wanted to help out (mortal peril optional).
c) He knew he was going to be partnered up with you and signed up for that because he is a fanboy. ]
Loki | MCU | ota honestly kind of just shitposting but feel free to make something of it
So. Your attempt at world domination was a disaster. You're wondering, what now? What's your next goal? How do you cope with being a failure? Maybe you even feel a little, tiny, miniscule particle of guilt?
Unfortunately you're caught, so--what will your punishment be?
Well, the answer to that last one is clearly community service and let me assure you, I'm no happier about this foolishness than you are.
no subject
I wouldn't call slavery a punishment. It's more of a forced lifestyle change.
no subject
For whatever magical or technological reason, he seems to hear and see the person on the other side of the screen, and he props his chin in his hand thoughtfully.]
I suppose that depends on who one's masters are. You needn't worry on my account, though. I'm not thrilled with this but it's a long, long way from torture. Plus, even if they don't commute my sentence I'm bound to outlive the lot of them, so it's only temporary.
no subject
I'd prefer to go back to torture than do anything to further their agenda, even cleaning up their trash. They can pick up their own litter.
no subject
I almost had them convinced to let me visit the Children's Hospital the other day, but SHIELD put the kibosh on that. I'm offended, actually. At my worst, I'd never harm a sick child.
no subject
We don't have sick children to work with back home. They're seen as unfit to be part of society but I've spent time with the sick children Jack has hidden from them.
no subject
...I quite like children. Sick or otherwise. I suppose I'm not very comforting, though.
no subject
Everything is comforting to someone. Slavery, freedom, compassion, murder... Find the right people and you'll comfort someone, no matter what you are.
no subject
It bothers me to feel as though my will has been weak compared to others'. But I think you and I are in agreement.
Mmm. After this, they've got me attending a prison library, which isn't a bad fit, I suppose. I like books, and if someone sticks a shiv in me I don't take it personally. Perhaps I can be comforting there.
no subject
We are raised to serve the community and receive torture when we refuse. Prisons don't offer comfort, maybe you will be.
