[ It's more like the world likes to use Midnight as a chew toy because he's both insufferable and nosy about intriguing people, which the detective across the way has proven himself to be. (He's assuming he's some kind of detective? Long hours, case files poking out of his bag every once in a while. It's either that or he's very attached to his office job.)

Anyway, the (probable) detective's front door has been slightly open for as long as Midnight's been home this morning, which means either the loan sharks got him or he's been robbed. If not, it's about to happen, in which case... Well, Midnight's a decent person. Might as well at least see if his neighbor's noticed.

He pushes the door open, still dressed (mostly) in his work clothes, a coat thrown over the flashier kimono underneath. Where is this man? And why is it so dark in here? ]
