Nature takes on many forms: from lush forests to snowy mountain peaks, bountiful coastal lands to harsh, sun-beaten deserts. Some of these places may be less hospitable to life than others, but all present their own unique challenges... and all command respect, for both their beauty and their power to support or end a life. Wherever you may travel, and for whatever reason, mind your environment. The wilderness can support you, but it can also ruin you. Will you fight it, or adapt to it?

'We're just going for a walk! We'll be, wait, ten-- twenty minutes? ... C'mon, stop looking at me like that! Twenty minutes. Just have Kimahri roar real loud if we take too long!'

Somehow, Tidus's persuasions for the crime of a short walk between just him and Yuna had been worked - persuasions that might be biting them in the behind, despite the decent beginnings. For as open as most of the Calm Lands are, they come with hidden trails, paths that split off into dead-ends and mysteries. The only mystery Tidus wanted answering was if they could get to a high enough section of ground to see the sky better, if to just watch for a little while.

(Or maybe longer than that. ... So what if he gets looks for it? That's a problem for future Tidus).

But what his efforts - straightforward as he was hoping they'd be - got him was some rather confusing trails, a few specks of rain that doesn't delay in turning into more.

Things had been going well, until they weren't - the reoccurring theme of the pilgrimage. It's with the rain's rush that Tidus brings an arm around the back of Yuna's shoulders, hissing a grunt under his breath, redirecting his step to the ledge of the path they're on, showing one much farther down below.

"This way- I'll jump, then I'll catch you!"

Better to go lower to get out of the rain, right? Don't worry, it'll totally be a painless drop!

The temptation of a walk with Tidus—time they could spend alone, even if only for a little while—was too much for Yuna to resist. It might delay their journey a bit, but it wouldn't be for long, she was sure. She stood with her hands clasped behind her back as Tidus set about convincing the others, the perfect picture of innocence. (Or she would be, were it not for the mischief twinkling in her eyes, a look that Wakka and Lulu could recognize in a heartbeat.) When Tidus prevailed, she bowed her thanks, and then they were off, Yuna's bright spirits escaping in quiet giggles.

It was fun, twisting and turning their way along hidden trails, exploring simply for the joy of it. Perhaps it was a bit indulgent, too. Sin had harried so much of their journey, driving them relentlessly forward, that Yuna couldn't help but treasure stolen moments. She laughed as they wandered—genuine laughter, not the practiced smile she taught herself to wear—and she paid little attention to the clouds gathering overhead.

Of course, then the clouds opened and began to pour, and the winding paths suddenly revealed themselves as potentially treacherous.

Yuna ducks her head (as though that will make any difference in what is quickly becoming a downpour), and she places her feet carefully, trusting Tidus to guide them. When he brings them to a ledge, she sees the steep drop even before he speaks.

"Oh!" she exhales, startled. Having thrown herself off of a tower to escape her own wedding, it isn't as though Yuna can object to the plan on principle. Still, when she looks up at Tidus, concern shows itself in the faint line between her brows—not for herself, but for him.

However, Yuna trusts him, and so she nods.

"All right," she says, tucking wet hair behind her ear. Then, "But be careful!"

She may be a healer, but she would rather Tidus stay whole.

Tidus throws her a grin, a side of teeth in the display; meant for reassurance, but what a better means to show it than a cocky confidence?

"Me? Always!" He lilts his innocence, doesn't hang around to see what expression he inspires as he turns, glancing once at the way down below before jumping to meet it. Luck is on his side (or just a history of jumping and bruises that've learnt better form) to keep himself upright, a giddiness in his muscles that's more likely the force of the impact than true butterflies.

No, that comes as he swings around to prepare for Yuna. Seeing her up there, and now more concerned for the distance and how well his catch will be of another person.

You'll do it, he tells himself, not letting the worry exist for more than the moment it exists. His hands raise, and he calls, voice louder with the crowded space:

"I've got you!"

What's a jump like this for a summoner who can fly, anyway?

The locals said the disturbance last night was some kind of fire streaking across the sky and landing way out in the desert. They were too scared to investigate such a thing but Doc knew this was nothing supernatural. More than likely a meteor strike and if it had to do with science, this was right up his alley.

Doc slowed the cart to a walk as he came up on the crash site. He frowned, puzzled. This trail didn't look like a meteor path...
