hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. [Nothing was ever guaranteed on patrol. You could hit a cemetery expecting it to be dead and find a vampire cult attempting to summon the demon they worshipped. Such was her night and her luck that she'd gone on this particular route alone instead of with one of the juniors. No back up had meant a harder fight than usual with the odds stacked against her but she was Faith Lehane. She didn't die easy or go down without a hell of a fight. So fight she did. Vamps kept coming and she kept swinging, sword and stake taking heads and hearts.

In the end her victory had been hard won but it was still won all the same and she bore the marks to prove it. She could already feel bruises forming where she'd taken hits and blood flowed freely from at least two cuts. She still had blocks to go before she'd make it back to her place when she decided to cut through Central Park. Faith just needed a few minutes to collect herself, choosing one of the benches off the beaten path. Most people didn't come that way after dark so she knew her chances of being interrupted were small. The random do gooder with no experience wasn't what she needed. Neither were the cops, not when she had a katana.

So it comes as no small surprise to her when she is interrupted by a man whose face she can recognize from the news.]

[It was a particularly bad day at work. Bad got called in early to deal with a few Tiger-level threats, so he assumed he could wrap it up early and make it to his sister's piano recital, then head over to listen to Reko record for the afternoon. He cleaned up, changed his clothes and spotted another notification on his phone. Three more threats nearby. No sweat. Taken care of without a scratch on him. Another text. Another clean wrap-up and he left his agent a message to stop texting him unless it was demon level or above.

Just before he showed up to find a seat, he got the text that would ruin his plans. Furiously, he left Zenko and Reko both very polite texts, apologizing. Work called.

By the end of it all, Bad was left a colossal monster bear left dead in the street while he dragged himself along for a half hour, parking himself on a bench near Reko's apartment. He rested against his bat, taking a breath and readying himself for an apology. Beside him on the bench was a takeout container of sushi. Definitely an offering to help the apology go smoother.

As he reached up to his brow to mop sweat and blood off of himself with a kerchief, his phone lit up once again with a text. Another demon-level. He sat up, reading it and taking in a deep breath. It was too close. Picking up his bat and the takeout container, he began to get up and leave the bench, ready to head to there on foot, dragging his bat with him.

He'd need to find somewhere to put down the sushi when he got there.]
