Found Families!

Some characters don't have what others do, whether because they lost their relatives or don't connect with them for some reason. Things don't have to stay that way. Not when friends can become the family you make for yourself.
1. Parental figure
2. Older or younger sibling
3. Uncle/Aunt
4. Grandparent
5. Other/wildcard
Prompts
1. Meeting
You my not know it yet, but this person will become an important part of your life. Chance meeting, destiny or pure accident.
2. Accepting (or rejecting)
This is still new for you and may not be the easiest to take in. Can include moving in, adapting to having someone to rely on or wildcard.
3. Synched
How many years has it been? They've got your back as much as you've got theirs and you both know it. Whatever problems one of you might have, the other is there. Can include hurt/comfort, lending an ear or more slice of life relying on.
4. Quarreling
Squabbles and spats happen all the time. How else are relationships supposed to grow stronger?
5. Protector/Protected
Any trouble that comes along you will protect them, whether they like it or not. Intruder in the home, assaulted out of the blue, locked in battle with others or each other.
6. Wildcard
Make your own or combine others.

Some kinda 1 post-5 combo idefk man, brain said I had to
But three days, with Eddie looking after her because it was safer than traveling alone, for either of them, and at breakfast she finally asked: "Is your friend coming back? The big one that brought me to you." Sure, she'd been more than just mildly concussed, and then unconscious, but she still knew what she'd seen.
"I'd like to thank him." She added, around a bite of toast, "I would be much worse off if it weren't for him." Even she could admit that she'd probably be dead if it hadn't been for the assist, it had just been one thing too many finally catching up to her.

He paused in between bites of egg at her question. He and Venom had talked about whether they should actually tell her the truth, fearing that she would run off upon finding out about the alien.
Not like she isn't going to find out eventually, if she sticks with us.
Eddie didn't respond to Venom. Since taking in the girl, he'd avoided directly talking to the symbiote when she was in earshot, lest he have to explain why he kept talking to himself. Though it was harder to hide any long pauses while he listened to Venom speak.
"Oh, he's... around," Eddie said. "He's never too far away, really. But he's kinda... scary."

She finished chewing her bite of toast as Eddie replied, took just a moment to let that answer settle even as she regarded him unblinkingly as she occasionally, unsettlingly, did, "That may be a problem for normal people, but I'm abnormal." It wasn't something she'd yet said flat out, despite her bluntness with other things, and the fact that Eddie hadn't asked, even though he had to have noticed the accelerated healing and a dozen other things about her that just weren't quite right.
Truthfully she'd started to expect that he wasn't normal either, perhaps not to the same extent or via the same source, but normal people didn't just take in a teenager they'd found at the wrong end of an apparent street fight, whether traveling together was safer or not, "My capacity for fear is greatly reduced."

"Well, what if I told you that he's here right now?"
Way to not sound suspicious.

"But there isn't a lot of space here to keep another person without them being noticed." Especially someone as large as she remembered the other one being, and concussion or not, she was reasonably sure of her assessment on his size.

Smooth, Eddie.
Finally, Eddie just blurted it out. "He's an alien symbiote who's bonded to me."

She shook her head a moment later, brow still creased, "Aliens are real?" She didn't sound overly concerned, just curious and seeking clarification as she usually was when asking a question.

She gave a little shake of her head, stuffing another bite of egg into her mouth, "I still have many things to do before I die, and when I do I'd rather it wasn't of three bullets like my parents."

[ Diego could've said thank you or told her what the offer to stay with her meant to him rather than question her kindness. He'd been literally thrown into her world with a time travel jump gone wrong that ended with the suitcase he used being destroyed. However, the destruction had saved them both from gunfire aimed at them before he'd had a chance to redirect the bullets.
It had been an unexpected meeting but they helped each other through the hostile environment and she hadn't told him to get lost. Instead, she listened to his story about time travel gone wrong and the world coming to an end thanks to his dysfunctional family. She had her own story of being raised in an unconventional way so his didn't seem to shock her any.
There was a lot that Diego needed to learn of this world, clueless to the year and location of where he ended up. It wasn't long before they were in another hostile situation but he could keep up with her and the fight ended quickly. Maybe that was why she opted to allow him to stay rather than have him fend for himself in an unfamiliar world.
He'd been full of snark while fighting their attackers but looked to her with pleading eyes. Yet his gaze wasn't intentional. Diego wasn't one to beg or show weakness, regardless of the vulnerable position he was in. The truth was that he was tired of being alone but that wasn't her problem and he didn't want to put his issues on her. ]
oh no adorable
He wasn't flawless in battle, but neither was she. She could trust him to handle most of his own problems and help out with some of hers. When he'd gabbled a quick explanation for dropping in front of her with an explosion, it'd made more sense.
Of course he was a time travelling superhero vigilante from a superhero vigilante family on another version of Earth. Why wouldn't he be?
Yelena had gabbled back her own equivalent. Taken from my family when young, raised to be a killer.
They'd finished the one fight, and then been ambushed by another before she could decide whether to get rid of him or put him safely on a train with a few pounds in his pocket. (Dollars? Yen? Which country is this again?) This was not a good town to be in, but that was the whole point. She was searching for intel. This Diego didn't need to get caught up in that.
So they'd snarked, and both taken a few hits, and had seen off their attackers with minimal damage to themselves and maximum damage to this old abandoned warehouse. She'd offered him a place to stay without thinking.
He'd given her that look.]
[She shook her head, laughing at him.] What, do I look like the kind of person who would turn a stray dog into the street? I'm sure enough. I have a hotel room not far from here. You can eat something. Drink something, if you like.
[She wrinkled her nose theatrically.] And shower. Wait, 'take a shower', that's right, isn't it?
[Part genuine unsureness about American English, and part automatic attempt to disarm someone she probably shouldn't trust so easily.]
Please take a shower.
i should be sleeping but...
He was already going to make things weird by not drinking and uttering a response in Russian that wasn't completely terrible. ] Prinyat' dush. [ Diego had repeated 'to take a shower' in Russian. ]
Actually kept a few things I learned as a kid while working at a boxing gym. Don't expect me to hold full conversations in what sounds like might be your native language.
[ Like Yelena, he should know not to let his guard down so easily but it wasn't as if she'd shown up in his life mysteriously. It was the other way around. He might've enjoyed the fight more than was healthy. There was a lot of pent up anger and frustration in him. ]
For the record, I've been called worse things than a dog.
/sends Yelena to sleep next to
She hasn't exactly not thought about him being naked... but perhaps not right now.
She raises her eyebrows and nods in approval at his Russian, then indicates the way ahead, down the street.]
Impressive! It is. But I have not spoken it full time in quite some time. Did you enjoy working at the gym?
[Fighting can be incredibly therapeutic. She hadn't been having a good day up to this point, but the simple focus that comes from fighting, the simple visceral impact of fists and knees and elbows and floor and walls, it does helpful things for her focus. Diego's presence will also make her less inclined to drink too much vodka and stare morosely at the wall until she can sleep.]
Ah? Me, too. Dogs are not bad, and I suspect you are not bad, either, Diego.
[They reach the hotel before long. It's rundown and, well, more of a motel, really. She guides him along the bottom floor to the end and opens her door. She could also use a shower. Fighting is therapeutic, but it does leave one stinking.
There's a reasonable sized double bed, a mini fridge, two chairs and a ricketty table. A small door off to one side leads to the bathroom. It's old, and not in good repair, but clean enough.]
stop teasing Diego like that lol
It gave me a place I could train in addition to somewhere to live.
[ Diego followed along and realized he was in the same situation all over again. Homeless without a cent to his name. At least the people they fought spoke english and not like Sir Reginald Hargreeves so it was safe to say they were somewhere in America.
The city didn't look massive like New York, or what he thought New York City looked like from the news and tv. It wasn't as if he traveled like some of his siblings. He was never far from the mansion so he could look in on Mom and Pogo.
A pang of sorrow made his heart ache at the thought of those who'd taken care of him at home. Yelena distracted him from the sadness, declaring that he wasn't bad. He held a soft smile. ] I think that depends who you ask. Those guys you were fighting back there probably wouldn't agree with you.
[ Yelena was stuck with a smart ass but a well meaning one if there was such a thing.
He undid the bandolier of knives on his body after stepping in the room and hung them on the back of the chair by the table. It wasn't solely because she'd told him to take a shower but also habit when he'd call it a night after hero work. ]
You sure you don't want the shower first? I don't mind taking a cold one if the hot water runs out. [ It was the least he could do to repay her hospitality. ]
he can handle it mwahaha
[she grins at that] Ah, those guys probably also like pineapple on pizza.
[That is a lot of knives. She's not exactly unarmed herself, though, so it's more of an investigatory, appreciative look that she gives them. She kicks off her shoes, wrinkles her nose at her socks, and then drops down to one knee to rummage through her bag next to the bed.]
No, no, go, please. I will find us some food and perhaps even some clothes.
he might even like it shhh
More knives were removed from his person, setting them on the table as she insisted he shower first. His head lifted to look at her as his hands set the boots he removed together under the table then took off the socks he wore and set each inside the corresponding boot. ] If you're sure.
[ Diego stood and pulled off the turtleneck that he wore before draping it over the back of the chair that he'd set his bandolier on. The black tanktop underneath the shirt he'd been wearing clung to his frame and left little to the imagination. A number of scars were on his arms that matched those on his head.
There were minor cuts and bruises from their battle but Diego moved without pause as he made his way to the bathroom. ] I'll be quick.
won't say a word~
I am very sure.
[She pauses in her rummaging to stare for a moment, eyebrows going up. She likes nice shoulders, and he is very handsomely put together.
...he is also hurt, and needs to shower. She tells herself to behave, and she yanks a clean t-shirt out of her bag, thankful that the last stash she picked up had some larger and some smaller clothes. There should be something here to fit him, as well, if he wants it.]
[she speaks gravely, but her eyes are dancing as she gazes in her bag] Good. There is not enough room in there for two. I will set out some clothes for you. Use them if you wish.

He gave a nod at her final words before disappearing into the small bathroom. She'd hear the water starting and running for a minute before the shower curtain could be heard closing. Diego scrubbed himself with a washcloth and soap, using the same soap to wash over his hair, spending some time under the spray of the shower to rinse off.
The cuts he sustained stung in a familiar way that he didn't bat an eye to the pain. It wasn't much longer that the shower was turned off and the shower curtain could be heard opening. He checked himself quickly before taking a clean white towel to dry off with, making sure he wasn't cut deep enough to bleed on the linen.
Diego dried most of himself and wrapped the towel over his hips then picked up the clothes he'd taken off before returning to the room. When he stepped back into the motel room, one hand was drying his hair with a hand towel he had over the top of his head while the other carried a bundle that were the clothes he'd taken off.
He set the bundle down on the chair that held his shirt and bandolier before taking a look at her offerings. In addition to his recent cuts and old scars, there was a tattoo on the inside of his left wrist. Diego also had his left nipple pierced which Yelena might not have noticed with the tank top he'd been wearing. He looked at her before picking up any of the clothing. ]
I'll wash my socks and underwear once your done so they can hopefully dry by tomorrow.
[ Unless she had extras that he hadn't seen yet in her stash of clothing. ]

[A little of both. Okay, okay, quite a lot of both, to be fair. She considers herself a reasonably good judge of character, and trusts him well enough, but anyone can turn on anyone at any time. It makes relaxing more difficult, and also much more fun.
When he emerges, she has a neat bundle of replacement clothes for herself, and a shirt and pants that look roughly his size. These clothing stashes are always hit or miss. She tilts her head to one side and watches him, being very, very careful to keep her eyes above the waist..... it is a nice waist, and nice chest and shoulders and arms, and it is not too much of an imposition to not look south of his equator. This man is very nicely put together, and has clearly seen multiple fights, and the inside of a tattoo parlor. She nods.]
There may be some more in that bag. Feel free to investigate, Mr Diego.
[Not that him being without underwear would be a difficulty for her. Cough cough. She throws some bagged snacks on the bed, and pulls two premade subs out of the bar fridge.] I will be quick. Eat, drink. Be as merry as you wish.
[And she ducks into the bathroom.]

[ A mix of appreciation showed on his face. Diego had a closed lip smile yet there was warmth and maybe a little more than gratitude in his eyes.
He made his own assessment of what seemed to be her assessing him. It wasn't that he'd forgotten ending up in a different world without his family, or how tired he was from the fighting he'd done along her side immediately on arrival. Diego wasn't seeing any red flags so his posture wasn't rigid.
His eyes followed Yelena with a ghost of a smile on his lips, enjoying the view of her from behind before turning his attention on the bag she mentioned. Diego never questioned where she got the clothing from that seemed to be a variety of sizes. Opting for the pair of joggers she'd left out, he slipped them on then the shirt which clung to him like the tank top he'd removed in the bathroom.
Hunger trumped the strange feeling of being sans underwear so he turned his attention to one of the subs without any thought of being possibly drugged. Instead, he turned on the television and looked for the news to see if they had anything to worry about.
The towel that he'd wrapped around his waist sat across his lap while eating on it rather than sitting at the rickety table. His hair was spiky from being damp. Diego had kept the hand towel that had been on his head, slung over one shoulder. If she was quick taking a shower then Yelena would walk out to him devouring a sandwich with his eyes fixed on the tv minus a few cautionary glances at the door. ]
