You know who likes a good road trip? Everyone likes a good road trip! So aren't you glad you get to go on one now? Of course you are.

The Rules;
1. Post your character.
2. Write down your preferences.
3. Tag other people.
4. Go on a trip together.

The Prompts;
1. LOST Oh no! You're hopelessly lost and have no idea how to get back to wherever it is that you were heading! Will you be able to find your way back, or is this the start of a new, totally intended, totally not lost journey?
2. TRAFFIC It happens to the best of us. You're stuck. There's no way of getting out of this one, nobody's going anywhere. How will make the best of your enforced quality time with your roadtrip buddy?
3. TOURIST TRAP The world's largest cheese wheel? A giant theme park about carrots? A chicken festival? Looks like you're checking it out.
4. CARJACKING Or boatjacking, spaceshipjacking, whatever else you're riding, looks like your ride is gone. What now?
5. HITCHHIKING Stick your thumb (or leg, or something else) out and hope for a ride, otherwise looks like you're walking.
6. PIT STOP You thought you could make the trip in one day, but looks like it might be longer. Or maybe your car's breaking down. Or maybe you just really need to go. Whatever the case may be, you're resting and getting ready for the travels ahead of you.
7. GHOST TOWN Or ghost motel, or ghost road. Or ghost something else. This was supposed to be one of the other prompts: peaceful, average, but there's something...unsettling about it. The pit stop doesn't have anyone, the tourist trap is deserted. Do you look around, or do you get back in the car and drive on?
8. GETAWAY This might be a road trip, but you might have had other reasons for starting to travel, reasons which, as it turns out, you might not be able to escape. What now?
9. OTHER Dealer's choice. Be creative!

[ Noelle still can't believe Susie invited her along. Her!! The trip itself should be pretty straightforward: A day trip to a nearby city, one with more to offer than their little hometown. The first leg of the journey is horribly uneventful, the car filled with awkward (???) silence as the gears in Noelle's mind desperately try to latch onto some kind of conversational topic. She gets nowhere, like a hamster running on a wheel, her mind a blank. A blank! It's the worst, and Susie must be...gosh, she must be so bored!?

By the time they make it to the halfway point, Noelle's so full of jittery energy that she practically hurls herself from the car as it pulls to a stop in the gas station. Maybe if she wanders the aisles, she'll burn off the anxious buzz and get with the program.

When pair leave the gas station, Noelle's arms full of snacks and snack-like objects, she doesn't immediately notice something's wrong. ]

Th-they didn't have chalk, but--

[Hermione hates driving. She hates it immensely. But it's a useful skill to have learned, especially when it comes to traveling within muggle communities undetected. After all, a car is much more reliable and inconspicuous than a broom.

Besides that, she's fairly certain she's much more equipped to drive than most of the rest of Hogwarts. She'd never let Ron behind the wheel of a car again after that mishap that kicked off second year, and Harry... well, he's a bit more responsible and familiar with muggle traffic laws than any of the Weasleys, but still. She's just gotten this car to celebrate her graduation from Hogwarts. She'd like it survive a simple holiday - also in celebration - in one piece.]

It's still a shame Ron and Ginny couldn't join us.

[They'll meet them at the beach, Ron had said, once he finishes helping George with the store inventory and taking care of a few things around the Burrow with Ginny. Hermione can't help but think that they simply don't see the fun in a long car ride when they can Apparate most of the way there, but again, perhaps that's just another one of the differences between muggle-borns like her and Harry versus those who were raised with magic.

For now, she's enjoying Harry's company, even chancing a split-second of looking away from the road to flash him a small smile before steadfastly returning to her focused driving.]
