[After everything that happened in Inazuma, Aether was glad for the chance to relax and rewind for a little while. So he accepted Beidou's offer in taking a leisurely trip back to Liyue -- with Beidou choosing to take the long route and sailing around a few tropical islands. But if that decision was impacted by anything, it was likely out of frustration that despite all this time together and how obvious they were, neither Aether nor Kazuha had made a move yet. Watching them dance around the subject was probably getting a little frustrating.]

[But Aether had his reasons. In his travels through many different worlds over the course of countless years, there was always someone waiting for him. He never quite knew how to describe it... to call them the reincarnation of the first one he met seemed inaccurate. Rather, it was as if they all shared some kind of connection with one another, as if their souls moved parallel across the expanse of stars and space, and each time-- fate seemed to lead Aether back into their arms. Sometimes they'd remember him, but sometimes they didn't. And that was all right.]

[But perhaps it was because of Kazuha's occasionally cryptic nature that Aether still wasn't sure whether he was remembered or not. He seemed to know of Aether's existence as a star traveler, but nothing that connected him to Kazuha. And if he did remember, and hadn't said anything... well, maybe there was a reason for it. Not every reunion ended up being a happy one, after all.]

[It was late, and the ship was docked off the coast of a small island for the night, which was seemingly uninhabited. Unable to sleep, Aether found himself climbing up into the crow's nest, knowing exactly who he'd find up there.]
