midnight textings

The Midnight Texting Meme It's the middle of the night and you're trying to catch some z's — or brooding alone in the alleys, as one does — when your phone dings and suddenly a stranger or a friend is texting you. What could they possibly want at this hour? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? ● Post with your character's name and canon on the subject line, indicate preferences as needed |

What is the appeal to teasing about it though? It's not like I ever said I was monk or something. I honestly thought I wouldn't connect with anyone on this sort of level. Especially with the age gaps that goes two ways with my body and mind not matching up. It's still surreal to me that a connection happened and she's not telepathic.

The appeal is because it's so awesome to see you get excited about something like this. I know you're not a monk but you almost never talk about women you find attractive. Also you can't tell me that if the tables were turned and I suddenly started dating someone you wouldn't want to tease me from time to time about stuff.
Speaking of the age gaps, does she usually date guys who are older than her?
no subject
Not really? You've been pretty sappy without having anyone in your life. Besides teasing you over trying to escape a disaster date is funnier than teasing you over being with someone you are really into.
I don't really know. All of them sounded they were generally around her age maybe a couple years older. I don't think she's ever been with anyone as old...or as young as me. =| I hate this two way gap so much.
no subject
Yeah I know, I'm a big sap. My roommate makes fun of me for it constantly. You might get another chance to tease me about bad dates, I've got another one coming up this weekend.
Somehow I don't think she's ever been with anyone like you, but maybe that's a good thing. It might make things complicated but it does make you one of a kind?
no subject
Well maybe you'll get lucky and this one will be able to have a conversation with you, without being creepy toward you.
No, she hasn't but some times it just feels frustrating to me.
no subject
Uh just in case though, is your girlfriend good at deflecting uncomfortable silences?
That's the hope, my friend Liz is setting us up so hopefully it will be better than last time. Liz knows me pretty good...uh especially since we sort of dated for a while.
And that's okay, so long as you don't let that be the focus on your connection with her.
no subject
Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. You deserve some happiness too.
I know...she cares less than I do at this rate, but I can't help be bothered when it hinders us. I want to be able to do things for her out in public and not having someone assume we're related or worse...
no subject
Aww thanks Five.
Yeah I would probably feel similar in your position, it's hard not to notice people gawking sometimes.
no subject
You don't have to thank me for that.
Basically. I try not to think about it but I'm not always successful.
no subject
Also side question, is she flirty?
I know, but still. Thanks.
Hrm yeah. At least you live in the city though, a lot of city people tend to ignore stuff purely because it is the city. Those stares would be 100% worse if you lived in a small town.
no subject
That's what friends are for right? To have each other's backs?
True and well I'll pay extra just to get us some privacy in places she wants to go.
[ Thank god for the trust fund set aside for him. ]
no subject
It is yeah, it's just nice to hear from time to time.
Anywhere in particular you think she'd want to go? I'll throw in some cash if you need it.
no subject
I suppose you got a point there.
Thanks for the offer, but it isn't necessary. I help with the family finances, so I have funds available to me. She mentioned wanting to go to a Ballet. So I may start there.
no subject
With that in mind, I'll always have your back Five.
Oh the ballet is great, if you want to skip the big productions you can get cheap tickets for a lot of the smaller scale productions. Does she like all types of dance or just ballet?
no subject
Likewise, Carter. I got your back too, buddy.
She seems to be a fan of dance in general, but ballet was what she mentioned when we were brainstorming ideas for places she could wear the dress I bought her.
no subject
:)
Oooh a fan of dance, I like her already. Have you ever been to the ballet Five?
no subject
[ That's probably the first time, he's really admitted to hating what the Handler did to him, during his time with the Commission. ]
No, I haven't. I've only ever been to some orchestra concerts. But ballets and operas I never had the opportunity before but now I have an excuse to go them.
no subject
I think you'll enjoy it, ballet can get a bad reputation for being stuffy and boring but it's actually really powerful.
no subject
My sister is a violinist. So honestly I'm pretty open to stuff that is related to that.
no subject
Oh awesome, yeah you'll totally enjoy it then.
