midnight textings

The Midnight Texting Meme It's the middle of the night and you're trying to catch some z's — or brooding alone in the alleys, as one does — when your phone dings and suddenly a stranger or a friend is texting you. What could they possibly want at this hour? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? ● Post with your character's name and canon on the subject line, indicate preferences as needed |

If I took you out for some shooting, you wouldn't happen to have one, would you?

And I just might.
[ On-site procurement means that he gets to keep whatever he still has on him once the mission is over. ]

Worth making the firing rate and making it a bit more well-rounded if you ask me.
The rest is cosmetic.
I know how weapons can be personal. Won't ask to use it, but I'd like to get a look at it and see how it fires.
[ That's something that Jill is awfully familiar with. You don't get a weapons stash like she has on an NGO salary, after all. ]

If you want to try it out for yourself, I don't mind.
[ He's not too precious about that kind of thing, and he knows that Jill will handle the SOCOM with care. A box, on the other hand, he'd be less likely to lend to someone. Too fragile. ]

Not that a handgun with the capacity of a machine pistol isn't appealing, of course.
I'd like that. :)
Swap, then?
[ She's not sure she could pull off the yoga required to be inconspicuous in one, anyway. Just because she's got the reach and flexibility doesn't mean it always comes naturally, after all. ]

[ Don't make him choose one, that's like having to choose a favorite child. (Or so he guesses.) ]
But yeah, sounds like a plan.
[ It does take a particular kind of person to successfully use a box. Only few have managed it... ]

Although they're mostly impractical, I really do enjoy using them when I get to.
[ The Samurai Edge will always win out the top spot, but a few others manage a close shave. ]
So, the question is how long you think you're gonna be awake? :)
[ It doesn't hurt to be direct and not waste time, she thinks. ]
If you can head over this way I could be convinced to open a bottle of bourbon I've been saving, too.

[ Just action game hero things. ]
You're saying what, I head over now and we go to the shooting range when it's daylight?

[ Perfectly normal hobby for them! ]
If you'd like. Always up for other suggestions because I won't be sleeping for a good, long while.
And I suspect you're the same.

Snake wouldn't say he loves his job, but for better or worse, it's what he's good at. ]
Yeah? What gave you that idea?
[ She's right, of course. Way to call him out. ]

Most people I know don't sleep as much as they should.
At least the people who are in similar fields.
Collective insomnia, I guess.
[ It's the pot calling the kettle, really. ]

[ Otacon, please take a nap. ]
Guessing you have a caffeine habit too?
no subject
Caffeine occasionally, but mostly running thoughts.
And calls at all hours.
Just about every time I get to sleep, I'm being sent somewhere on a moment's notice. :(

Thigh cut.
So I'll likely not be called in unless it's something dire.
Which is likely enough, but I'd like to think I'll get at least twenty-four hours in before I'm called.
I'm highest clearance SOA and a founding member, so the tend to look to me for guidance or when they need a representative.
Tedious, but worth it.

[ It's a little bit of a call out, but it's not like Snake can tell her what to do. ]
no subject
Actively attempting to doesn't always mean you can, you know.
[ A harsh call-out! ]
