midnight textings

The Midnight Texting Meme It's the middle of the night and you're trying to catch some z's — or brooding alone in the alleys, as one does — when your phone dings and suddenly a stranger or a friend is texting you. What could they possibly want at this hour? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? ● Post with your character's name and canon on the subject line, indicate preferences as needed |

[ Aymeric wouldn't message him so late into the night unless it was important, so for once in his life, Estinien responds promptly. ]

As you are aware, relations with our Dravanian neighbors have been growing exponentially. Dragonets in particular have become quite enamoured with the Firmament and have, of late, taken it upon themselves to explore the rest of the city.
Consequently none are to be allowed along the greater streets of Ishgard unaccompanied.
[ Please see where this is going. ]
As such
[ Oops, he sends that before he means to. ]
*As such I have found myself as the current and sole chaperone for three terribly curious dragonets who, rather than returning to the Firmament for the eve, have made themselves my honored guests in this cultural exchange and discovered my kitchen pantry.
[ Sigh. To the point: ]
Is Birch Syrup toxic to dragons?

At first Estinien is expecting to get saddled with care of the dragonets, but it appears Aymeric has taken that burden on himself. Likely all the better. Estinien has enough on his hands as it is. ]
You assume merely because I've made the acquaintance of a few dravanians that I now know the specifics of their dietery needs?
[ All he really knows is that they can cook squid for him. ]
I would assume it is not. Birch syrup is native to Coerthas and no doubt they've sampled some before.
[ So it will be fine, probably. ]

[ Which...okay maybe it is a bit of a stretch to believe they would have been "breaking bread", as it were, and that it would be anything beyond feasting upon freshly caught prey. (Dragons don't prepare their food. Of course not! Though he has heard the rumors of one taking up crafting...)
Nevertheless, Aymeric is at a loss. And rightfully concerned about his guests and the state of his house ere they depart. ]
Nevertheless, that is good to hear. I suppose this is just a bout of overindulgence and an upset stomach.

[ Given that at least one of the dragonets is therefore feeling unwell, Estinien can now see why Aymeric considered this matter urgent. ]
Let us hope that is the case. If something were to happen to them, I could not guarantee your safety from their broodmother.

[ To be fair, he didn't exactly invite them in, but... ]
That being one of my paramount concerns. My own safety aside, 'twould reflect poorly on the rest of Ishgard so soon after our parley.

I doubt that you have any intention of sleeping tonight now that this has taken place. Monitor their conditions, and if they appear to take a turn for the worse, let me know. I can always make the trip to Anyx Trine to call upon their brethren for counsel in your predicament.

Do you think that wise? I hesitate to call alarm if it isn't necessary...yet I do not want to put these dragonets at risk either.

I doubt it will come to that, however. They're quite resilient.
