midnight textings

The Midnight Texting Meme It's the middle of the night and you're trying to catch some z's — or brooding alone in the alleys, as one does — when your phone dings and suddenly a stranger or a friend is texting you. What could they possibly want at this hour? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? ● Post with your character's name and canon on the subject line, indicate preferences as needed |

whatever, he gets up to let him in anyway. tim's more or less dressed for bed, but it's probably pretty clear that he won't actually be going to bed anytime soon. the lights are on in the kitchen and down the hall in his office, after all, and there's a coffee cup in his free hand.
his brows loft briefly as he gives jason a quick, analytical once-over, then he steps aside to let him in. ] Bathroom if you need anything stitched up first. [ not their first rodeo by a long shot, and presumably jason would have said if he was bleeding out somewhere, but still. ]

he's not banged up too bad this time, but he does toss his cracked helmet aside and starts to kick his muddy boots off while tossing his phone to Tim, bullet very much lodged right into it. ]
I'm good. Could use a drink, though.

padding toward the kitchen, he seats himself at the bar--there are papers spread across it, where evidently his wayne enterprises work has migrated from his office over the night--turning the phone in his hands as he lets jason make himself comfortable and make his own drink. ]
It'll be easier and cheaper to just replace your phone, [ he decides, and seems to remember the mug in his other hand, taking a sip as he sets the phone down atop a free space on the counter. ] I'll get one set up for you. [ he has some spares in his.. other office. ]

He follows after Tim, tossing his jacket off along the way as well, seriously making himself at home as he goes to check out the contents of Tim's fridge, and grab a drink. ]
But I like this phone. I don't like any of that newfangled shit.

honestly, he can't talk, tim is kind of a disorganized disaster when it comes to his personal life. it's why he usually keeps his personal life, his public life, and his vigilante life all as separate as possible.
he gives jason a flat look at he rummages through tim's fridge. 'newfangled'? seriously? ] I'm not wasting my time fixing what basically amounts to a burner phone, Jason. [ he takes another sip of his coffee and makes a token attempt to shuffle his paperwork together. ] Do you see what I still need to finish tonight? [ it probably could have been done earlier if he hadn't gone on patrol for several hours, but.. well. he wasn't not going to go on patrol. ]

He finds some leftover Chinese, opens the container to smell it, and it's good enough for him, so he goes in search of a fork and starts eating as he watches Tim. ]
It's not a burner phone. I'm over that shit. You're calling this a waste of time? Cause I'm seriously offended.
[ He shovels noodles into his mouth, glancing over at the papers all over his desk. Fucking Wayne Enterprises. ]
What kinda phone do you have?

he lifts jason's phone again, turning it in his hands and pushing the bullet all the way through with a thumb so he can peer at it. ] .. Doesn't look like a domestic round. Probably meant to be untraceable? [ his glance lifts to jason's, head tilting faintly. ] You were having an interesting night.

[ Although if he uses it as a shield again, that probably would be a waste of time and resources. And hell, he's fine with a shitty phone, as long as it isn't complicated. ]
Oh yeah, I know where the fuck that bullet's from, don't worry about that part. [ he shrugs, eating another bite. ] Interesting, sure. I didn't manage to get a bullet in their heads tonight though, so it's still a work in progress.
