If only the HQ by moonlight were a less familiar sight. Kira was used to late nights and early mornings, and it really was nothing short of a miracle that he hadn't fallen asleep in the office to begin with. ​]

[ the pile of paperwork on the table is tremendous and he needs some strength to attempt it... ]

[It really is an impressive amount of paperwork. Gin probably should have done some himself, but it’s just more fun to push it off onto Kira!]

Hm…I have some matcha around here somewhere. [Gin waves vaguely at the shelves behind Kira.]

I hope you’re nice ‘n awake, Kira! Wouldn’ want you to fall asleep on me!

[He punctuates the words by giving his eyebrows a good wiggle in Kira’s direction. It’s easier said than done, since he keeps his eyes all but closed the whole time.]

[ If he'd been sleepy at all, that had changed the moment he'd seen the Captain Ichimaru pop up on his phone. There was something about talking to Gin that was like getting splashed in the face with cold water. ]

[ He tries to ignore the wiggling eyebrows - but that, too, is easier said than done. He'll just boil some water, grab the first paper off stack-- ​]

Captain, do we really need to requisition all of these paperclips?

[Gin looks almost offended at the question, reaching under his desk and pulling out a paperclip chain of impressive proportions.]

Of course we need those! Captain Kurotsuchi and I have a bit of a competition, see? He recently said that his chain is over sixty meters long, ‘n I won’t let him beat me!

[Deliberately, watching Kira the whole time, Gin adds another paperclip to the chain and drops the whole amalgamation back under his desk.]
