the wild

1. camping
Nothing takes the edge off like unplugging from the world and sleeping under the stars... if you're into that sort of thing.
2. adventuring
The wilderness is the backdrop for your epic journey to defeat evil or obtain the macguffin, but surviving here may be a challenge in and of itself.
3. hunting
You're here to enjoy the bounties of nature: fishing, hunting, gathering.
4. lost
You took a wrong turn, and now you're hopelessly turned around. Is there anyone out here to help you?
5. off-grid
For whatever reason you've made your life here, far away from any city or village.
6. storm
Making your way through the wild is hard enough, but now the weather taking a turn for the worse! How quickly can you find shelter, or throw together a roof for your head?
7. bandit camp
Perhaps you're a nomadic forest-dweller yourself, or else you've stumbled upon a hidden bandit camp. Will this meeting be a peaceful one?
8. monsters
Few who enter these wilds return in one piece. Be sure that you are prepared.
9. enchanted forest
The fog is so thick you can hardly see ahead of you, and you've heard that witches, fairies, and werewolves live in these woods.
10. wildcard
Anything goes!

Their settlement had been here for weeks now- hiding out in the wilderness. Women, men, children. Anyone and everyone that needed him to keep them safe. Rescued from the clutches of the Empire, some snatched from the claws of Inquisitors. All of them sticking together so their safety could be ensured.
It wasn't easy, of course- often on the move, always jumping at shadows, ready to pick up and move on to somewhere else at a moment's notice. Even Kieran was starting to feel fatigued, though he'd never show it. Compared to the alternative though, it was far far preferable.
The Jedi himself was patrolling the area around the camp when he sensed someone unfamiliar nearby. Immediately he was on high alert- calling it in to the camp, telling them to get ready to pick up and run if necessary. Whoever it was who was out in the wilderness with them didn't feel like a threat, but better safe than sorry.
While the camp prepared for a possible move, the Jedi himself headed toward this unfamiliar presence- he was no Shadow, but he knew how to move quietly, to sneak to the best of his ability. If possible, he wanted to keep the camp where it was a while longer. To let everyone rest a while longer before moving them elsewhere. So he should at least ascertain whether this presence was friend or foe or neither of the two before they ran for the hills. He owed everyone who relied on him at least that much.

He'd considered settling in town, only to notice that some Stormtroopers had also chosen to lodge there. Thus, he'd gone into the woods, planning to find a place to camp out. Anders had been hiking for the better part of a day when he felt it. At first, he'd worried that it was an Inquisitor, but it didn't feel like a dark presence. Still, he knew that sometimes they liked to bait their targets, so Anders proceeded with caution.
As he got closer, he kept his senses open. Whoever it was, they were someone with a protective feeling, someone who didn't follow the dark path.
"Whoever you are, I don't want any trouble."

He stepped out from his hiding place- one hand hovering near the lightsaber at his side, while the other was held up to show that he meant no harm unless the other man made a move first.
"Neither do I," He said, voice calm and his presence in the Force very much the same- though he knew that his eyes were quite intense- not something he could change however much he wished he could- despite his desire to appear unthreatening, "Strange place to be traveling through at this hour."
Of course the same could be said of him.
"Are you lost?"
If he could redirect him somewhere else, that would probably be for the best. Lack of hostility didn't necessarily mean lack of danger, after all.

A mixture of 3, 6 & 8 at least
The ride had turned quiet the moment they veered off the road and into the thick and vast forest, before a clearing soon laid out before them and JJ slowed her pace. Eyes glancing around looking for areas of trampled grass to either indicate animal or person was around.
A glance over to Joel, she offered a slight tilt of her head while giving her horses mane a nice pat. ]
What do you think? This clearing gives us a damn good view for several miles either way. Might be lucky enough to snag us some rabbit or even a deer to take back.

if you can forgive my dropping our last thread... 3?
There’s a shimmer as the early morning sunlight dapples off of scales, and her toes dig suddenly into the creek’s stony bed. She tenses, waiting…
Ellie holds her breath as she plunges forward, and though she knows that this narrow strip of the creek does not come up any higher than her waist, she is trembling to feel the rushing water rise even to her thighs.
But the net in her hands begins to fight, and she refocuses.
A sizable trout struggles, splashing her in its desperate bid to rejoin the current. She sputters and swears at it. For a panicky moment the soft ground shifts disconcertingly beneath her feet as she walks blindly backwards, threatening to topple her, and her hands almost fumble the net she has borrowed from Joel’s backpack.
A thought pricks her. He’ll kill you if you lose it.
With that little bit of encouragement, she manages to keep a few fingers hooked. Good thing, too. When she has staggered back to the grassy ground, the first thing she sees upon turning is Joel standing at the treeline.
Shit. ]
Morning. [ She had intended to return before he had woken. Cautiously proud, the whole front of her dripping, Ellie holds the wriggling fish up. ] Breakfast?
of course! no worries (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
But all except for his state of disarray has passed like a dark cloud skating under the sun by the time she looks up at him, after fighting her way out of the water with a familiar length of netting in her hands (cut from another wrecked boat a few days back, where the river the creek feeds is a lot deeper and whole lot faster) and her catch.
His jaw clenches in that telling way - disapproval blatant but held back in the face of a minor success he can't quite criticize - as he shoves his gun back into its holster. Eyeing the slope down to her, he takes it in a few broad steps, dirt crumbling from the embankment as his boots sink into stony, sandy mud. ]
Since you've already been in my pack once today, why don't you go and grab my pocketknife out of the front pocket. [ There's the disapproval, bled out of his face and into his voice - though it mellows into something not exactly gentler but maybe less harsh, more oft heard of late, almost proud, as he reaches for the net. ] Fish spoils fast. We'll have to clean it and cook it up quick.
❤❤
