[ Silas has always been an emotional person, much to his mother's chagrin. As a child, stories and songs captured his interest far more readily than swordplay and strategy. Despite her best efforts to shame the soft out of him, Silas endured, learning to play a few instruments and penning poetry beneath the moonlight.

He'd moved to Paris to further his education, as well as to distance himself from his family somewhat; while he loved them dearly, it had grown increasingly obvious that he would never truly flourish while under his mother's thumb. And so, between his studies, he took to indulging his love of the arts, frequenting cafés and bars where live music was a regular occurrence.

Tonight there's a pianist he's seen before, a young man with dark hair. Silas, in fact, knew there was a good chance he'd be here; there was something about the way he played that tugged on the prince's heartstrings, no matter what mood he happened to be in. Tonight's no different. At the end of the piece, there's the telltale wetness of unshed tears clinging to his eyelashes, and as he joins the crowd in a soft round of applause he gazes at the pianist, heart twisting in his chest.

Survival of the Fittest. Ha. The fittest, her very fine ass. The smartest, the cleverest was more like it. If Devi knew where Darwin was in time right now, she'd find an agent to hop her into the past and punch him dead in the nose just for the hell of it. That being said, the artist was sort of on the run and looked it, by the dried blood and dirt on her face. Her last fight hadn't gone as well as she would have hoped and she was a little worse for the wear but wear didn't matter. She'd gotten out, so fuck the Man.

Her drop into the warehouse's skylight was less than graceful, though fairly middled - ten points from the judges; a slender, purple haired woman freefalling into the concrete three levels below hard enough to crack it beneath her with a sound that could be heard throughout. A few beats past before the returning silence was broken with a low groan and the sounds of small debris falling as she pulled her self from her mini-crater.

"Guess I know my limit for travel in these circumstances," she said out loud, too comfortable with talking with herself, as evident by what followed. "Oh fuck off, I fly like a goddamned dragon.. Chicken Little," she scoffed to the voice in her head that had mocked her in the first place. "At least we landed somewhere dry."

[ Tauriel doesn't make it a habit to venture too far along the border of Mirkwood, and especially not with King Thranduil's explicit command to keep strictly to the Woodland Realm, but on this particular evening she disobeys that command.

She's on the trail of a party of orcs, following scent and tracks, when she comes upon a wrecked boat on the edge of the shore; the hull is in tatters, scattered amidst destroyed barrels and there is a single unconscious human man, injured and barely clinging to detritus from his ship in the water. When she pulls him ashore and gingerly turns him to look at his face, she recognizes the Boatman who ferries their monthly shipment of Dorwinian wine. Bard. For what reason would the orcs have to attack him?

She tugs him from the water, managing to pull him to safety, and leaves only briefly to return with a mount. Despite the fact that she's clearly disobeyed Thranduil's orders, and despite the fact that a human should never step foot within the halls of the Elvenking, she takes him back to the realm. She will treat his wounds herself, regardless if her king thinks it a wise idea.

The bed he's laid to rest on during his recuperation is soft and warm, and she is there at his bedside when he finally begins to stir. ]

[Noctis is trying to be more helpful to the group on an everyday level. He doesn't doubt his skills in battle, but the day to day... could be better. As long as he still gets to sleep in of course.

In an effort to not be dead weight, Noctis has taken on the task of boiling water over the campfire. It feels like he's been staring into his reflection on the side of the kettle for hours and nothing has happened to indicate that the water inside is even getting slightly warm.
