The { DEMIGOD } Meme

Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not that powers they are graced with.

So your parent is one of the Olympian gods, eh?

You’d think that being the son or daughter of someone who can summon lightning at will, cause others to fall in love at first sight, or throw one hell of a frat party would be the best thing in the world. Unfortunately, someone didn’t get that notice and your life more or less sucks. Your deity parent basically ignores you, you have monsters trying to eat your face off every two seconds (especially if you’re unfortunate enough to be a kid of Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades), and you routinely get or have been kicked out of school for ADD out of this world.

Are you a child of the Greek or Roman version of the gods and goddesses? Are you still training at Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter, or have you made your way in the world to try and become a hero? Currently on a quest or trying to keep your head low so it won’t get eaten off by a Hydra?

The choice is yours.

So what do you do now?

1.) Post with your character. In the subject line, type your character’s name and canon. Then, either in the subject line or in the comment section, put down with Greek/Roman deity is your parent. Example: Piper McLean | The Heroes of Olympus | Daughter of Aphrodite

2.) Roll the RNG and tag around! There are friends and enemies out there waiting to be discovered.
a.) Camp Half-Blood / Camp Jupiter – Congrats, you’re in summer camp! Time for canoeing, archery, beating up monsters, chariot races, and trying not to die!
b.) Questing – Well, aren’t you lucky? For some reason, the Oracle gave you and some of your friends a quest. Uh…good luck with completing it.
c.) Real World – This is the true story of a bunch of demigods surviving in the real world and becoming awesome or getting eaten. Find out what happens when you leave summer camp and stuff starts getting real.
d.) The Oracle Was Really Vague Again – Your choice!

3.) Have fun and don't feed the Hydra!

Zed, for his part, is impatient. Questing, so far, has turned out to be a lot of reading maps and riding buses and not a lot of slaying monsters and heroic deeds. So, here he is, pacing back and forth before the map and glancing irritably up at the sky, where the moon is being stubbornly slow about rising.]

Of course, she didn't realize how spectacular the views were now that they weren't in danger of being attacked, and now her sketchpad and pencils lay forgotten on deck as she peers over the railing at the vast crystalline waters of the lake below.]

[ Some of Hermes' kids got blessed with guile and a knack for thieving; others got a skill for athletics, and in particular, acrobatics. Dick Grayson, fell into the latter category. He got touched with such a skill that some people said he came close to flying as he moved through the air. No one dared voice those thoughts too loudly, though, lest they provoke an evil glance from Zeus or his children.

New York City looked like it had turned into a particularly nice place for Hermes' kids - Dick had caught track of them often enough, sensing a bit of their presence here and there. One in particular grabbed him, though, and he ended up following it, also using his skill for blending in and skulking about. Wandering around Manhattan in pursuit of this "brother" of his was kind of fun. Now he had to wonder if this guy was good enough to notice him. ]

Having just gone stab-happy with her spear, perfecting her movements and agonizing over her heavy-footedness, she collapses onto a bale of hay just outside the stables. No one seems to be around, which allows her to unlock her straight posture, hands limp at her sides, forehead against her knees. It's a pathetic sight, really. ]
