[ The comfort of a shared brew of coffee between them is a standing tradition. From the time before they both truly understood each other to the time they were doomed to be parted for some time, it has been their connecting thread. The mundanity of it is novel for two beings borne of the machinations of the Astrals. Lucifer feels most at home in a moment like this.

The Grancypher is not a place he thought he'd ever see so close. In the galley? Even less so. But, here he is in the quiet of the late evening when the bustle is gone, waiting for Sandalphon to finish brewing a new batch of coffee beans he's happened upon.

He's quiet and smiling, sitting at a table with a book he'd borrowed from someone. Skydwellers write such interesting things and he's found a fondness for them. He'll be here, patiently, until Sandalphon joins him. ]

[ for the most part, sandalphon thought himself to be part of a dream.

the astrals and their game had been over for some time, and the angel had come to accept that seeing lucifer once more would be nothing but a distant memory, one locked behind seemingly infinite time and space. but fate always surprised him, and this moment was no different. to see him aboard the grandcypher, as any other crew member, reading the night away felt like he was simply daydreaming, but reality always came back to remind him.

as he worked through the process of brewing, his mind went elsewhere, to the promise he had made to lucifer back in the garden. was he fulfilling that promise now? was the coffee even good enough? those thoughts and more mulled in his head, even as he placed the coffee pot and cups on the tray and walked over to the waiting man. his mouth felt dry as he approached, wondering if he should even say something and ruin the silence.

but the coffee would go cold if he didn't say something. ]

Lucifer, I've brought the coffee. It's a new blend I've been working on.

[ Ah, a lovely, casual date; good coffee, nice music, a barista in the middle of an emotional breakdown and becoming possessed by an ayakashi, lovely ambience, and the biscotti...? To die for. ]

(Surprisingly, Charlie had some time off from the Hotel today and she felt maybe she could use this spare time to grab a coffee. And of course, she orders something on the sweet fruity side and for once, the employees made it correctly! They usually don't given, well, this is Hell and all.)

(So she takes a seat next to the window as she sips; looking out at the people doing their every-day things. Walking, talking, stealing, stabbing, a bird peeking on a baby demon's head. Yes, just really an ordinary day in Hell. Although, she wishes it wasn't so violent all the time.)
