Let's break this in.

Just going to go ahead and say this: if you tag someone on a meme, the onus is on you to set the scene. Don't make them do the work, especially since they might not know your canon.

Also, put your character's name in the name field or profile somewhere! It's even harder to scene with someone when they don't set up a scene, don't say who the character is, and don't even have the character's name anywhere on their journal so you can look them up to figure out enough to do a setup yourself.

Especially since a lot of these memes rely on pretending there's an established relationship or situation of some kind.

But it goes both ways. I'll set up the scene but I'm not going to tell you what your character was doing prior to the scene, dictate what's in their bag/case/pocket, or how they're reacting to the tag.

Stop putting OTA or Open in your subject when YOU'RE NOT REALLY OPEN TO ALL.

IDK, sometimes someone will tag me and I have no idea what to do with it just because of that character, like I can't see mine in the situation at all because it'd be OOC when I have no issues with other characters from the same medium or gender. And this is all characters I don't know and have to google.

OTA just means you're open to tagging people outside of casts and mediums, it doesn't mean you have to. Sometimes you're generally okay with whatever comes your way, regardless of medium or gender, but an individual character is boring, you can't figure out how they'd click, or the player doesn't give a good setup.

I hate how a lot of people RP sex.

Not because I hate smut, but whether they're doing the generic stuttering anime things "Ah-ah-ah it f-feels so goood" or making it sound like a porno "I want you to come for me" a lot of it sounds really generic.

A lot of people tend to write sex as just two people having sex, not as the those specific characters having sex. It's boring.

I get what you're saying.

However, I think you have to give some leeway for memes. You write sex scenes with a character you have no previous CR with, it might be a character from a canon you don't know at all, you don't know the mun and how they like their smut/what they're okay with... I'm not saying it's impossible to write interesting smut under these circumstances, but it's certainly harder than if you have months of big epic love or hate to build on.

I wish more memes had the thread OPs choose/create the setting for their threads, instead of it always being the people commenting.

It'd make it easier to tell what people want out of their threads before I tag them, and lets me show others the same. And with my more obscure characters, it lets a bit of their personality shine from the get-go, so people aren't left judging only by a name and an icon if they want to actually interact with them.
