It could be. Asgard can be whatever we make it.

It's everything to me. And you may deny it Loki but I know it does not mean nothing to you.

It's not Asgard that I struggle to define. It's a path for you that both is good for you and makes you happy.

I think our history speaks for itself. For you, being a good man makes you happy. For me, it contradicts who I am. What happiness can be gleaned from that?

[ he shakes his head. ]

And I rather hold onto myself than to chase something as elusive as happiness.

[ Thor shakes his head as Loki goes on, the muscles in his jaw working as he waits for his brother to finish; despite as how sad (and a bit angry) it makes him. The idea that he cannot both be happy and be something other than...the villain. ]

And what if you lose yourself in your pursuit for what you think you you are? I don't ask that you become an avenger, or a saint. Just that you seek a path that does not end in your own ruin.

[ loki never forgets how low of an estimation thor has of him. and how often it contradicts his care. he's learned not to take it so personally. they've let so much go after ragnarok that the point of holding grudges seems petty at best.

even if loki is the most petty as a person. still, he is not deliberately trying to annoy thor. he smiles faintly. ]

I'm worried I'll lose you.

[ He's lost him enough times already; even though they haven't stuck it still hurt all the same. He isn't sure if he can handle a third round of that grief. ]
