The kid in question can be whatever character tags yours, or you can enlist that character to help you wrangle your new NPC rugrat. Suit yourselves. Have fun!

[ Bill's town is far enough outside the QZ to make it a rare destination for Joel. He hasn't been through in months, but from the looks of things, not much has changed. The usual traps and dangers frustrate his progress, and he is reminded all over why he hates making this run.

Deep into the maze of ruined buildings, standing at the top of a rusted fire escape, he takes a breather. Out of the narrow streets and alleys, a pleasant breeze lifts away some of his tension. He takes a chance to scope out the area, and suddenly a hint of movement has his attention. He blinks a couple times, not believing his eyes.

A single kid taking cover behind an upended delivery truck as three agitated infected circle, staggering ever closer through the maze of cars.

Joel's moving before he can think better of it. He takes the staircase back down to the street two steps at a time, moving quick but quiet. Crouching, he leaves the safety of the alley, taking cover where he can as he draws closer.

Finally, a few cars away and trapped by an approaching clicker, he spots her at the same time as she sees him. With a hand, he silently gestures for the kid to stay in place. He lifts a brick, then throws it.

The infected lurches toward the crash, clearing a path between Joel and the kid. He waves her closer. ]

Xue Yang, thanks to how he'd grown up, had a thing when it came to children. Not wanting them to be harmed the way that he had. The Wen remnants had been dealt with, not by him, and he'd managed to find the little one that had been hiding. That had been what felt like a long time ago.

Now? They were both in Lanling, little Yuan being taught the ways of demonic cultivation. Why not start them young? Besides, no need for him to be scared of the undead. He'd make sure that fear wasn't something the little one ever had to deal with. By the time he did get older he'd be just as good as he was.

[ can I interest you in a Force-sensitive teenager or younger kid (starsandshadows is her kid journal) that managed to find her way onto post-apocalyptic Earth? there have been plague/zombie outbreaks on planets in Star Wars so easy enough to handwave some kind of logic, or simply her curiosity got the better of her and she stumbled through some kind of portal device and got stuck somewhere she shouldn't be. her sensing ability might come in handy for not getting ambushed, though she's inquisitive and curious almost to a fault.

I've watched a full playthrough of the first game (though it's been a little while) and but only seen bits and pieces of the second game. ]
