Nature is no respecter of persons, my friends. Whether it be childhood friends, newlyweds, or one-night stands, a single decision or accident can change everything, and there will be three people instead of just two.

Congratulations! The characters in these threads and those who reply to them are now expecting babies, no matter what their unique situation may be. Of course, depending on the characters, this might go over like a lead balloon. But wait! Even if the decision to have a baby was made and was consensual, the process is no walk in the park. There is lots to do...and only nine months to do it. Nine potentially drama-filled months.

HOW TO PLAY

Comment with your character, preferences, etc.
Not all options here are fluffy and happy. Some are potentially angsty or possibly triggering. Tread lightly. Be sure to mention what you want and what you don't want.

For this, male characters can get pregnant because why not.

How'd It Happen: What led up to this event? How are you in this situation?

Realization: There's a wrench in the works...or maybe it was expected, but you're just realizing you're pregnant.

Positive Reaction: Yes, after all this time and planning! You're finally ready for a family.

Negative Reaction: Oh, no. This is terrible. You're in no position to take care of a child!

Freak Outs: But...how? You're a human, she's an alien, how -

Deciding What to Do: If this wasn't planned, there needs to be a plan of action now.

Keep it Secret: You're attempting to keep your pregnancy a secret from your partner. This is only a bandaid for the bigger problem.

Telling Others: The other people in you two's life have to know at some point.

Drama: No one wanted you to have a kid and the anger is palpable.

Morning Sickness and More: Everything hurts and the mornings are hell.

Learning: If you're in a technologically advanced society, you may get to see an ultrasound. Otherwise, there are folk remedies that can be tried.

Manipulation: One of you is using the prospect of a child to bend the other to their will and make them stay.

My Body is a Cage: The person carrying the baby is having a decent amount of discomfort, mentally and physically.

Showing: It's a secret no longer with an expanding stomach.

Support: The partner who isn't carrying the child should do their best to be there and help out...

Overprotective: ...but to a degree. Don't act like the partner carrying the child is made of paper.

Getting Ready: The house or apartment or castle has to be babyproof.

Heart to Heart: It's time to talk about the big changes before the happen. Where do the two of you stand?

It's Happening: THE BABY IS COMING.

Rough Going: Childbirth is still a dangerous affair and there's no smooth sailing for you. So pace if you're lucky, scream in the bed if you're not.

Bad End: Not all new beginnings last. Sometimes, they become unhappy endings.

Coming Home: Finally, parents and baby get to settle down.

Getting Used to This: Well, maybe settle down. There's still crying in the night, feedings to do, diapers to change...

[Ben loved Jyn with all that he was. She took such good care of him, their baby. But he also loved Cassian and Bohdi. They were happy as a group, loving one another and raising their children together.

Ben... He wanted a large family, but he hadn't said anything to his mate or partners yet.

He and Cassian were currently curled up in bed in one of bedrooms together. He ran a hand over Cassian's side as he looked at the man.]

Cassian.... Do you want more children?

[Life was good within the little family. Babies were cared for and loved, there was no jealousy when it came to sharing their love in different configurations.

They just were.

For as much as Cassian loved and appreciated Bodhi, his own mate, but he would be lying if he said that he hadn't (and still didn't) feel a pull to the man at his side.

He hummed softly at the touch of Ben's hand, carefully considering the question - not that it actually needs much thought.]

I wouldn't mind it, Ben. Can you imagine a little herd of children running around here?

[Ben had felt this pull to Cassian since they met. He loved Jyn so much, but Cassian... Luckily his mate understood and she wasn't jealous. She enjoyed watching the two of them together and participating. He had noticed too that his mate felt a pull to Bohdi. And he wanted her to be happy, no matter what.

He leaned in and nuzzled Cassian's neck before pressing a kiss onto the bite mark he'd given months ago.]

I want to have your baby.

[Fortunately, there was more than enough love and attraction to go around. And Cassian knew that at the end of the day, they all belonged to each other, first and foremost, and that was what mattered most.

As long as they communicated - they were open and honest with each other - their relationship would stay strong and in tact.

Cassian sighed, shivering gently at the feel of Ben's lips against his skin.]

Yeah? I wanna have yours.

[Ben shivered and turned them so he was straddling Cassian's hips. He moved his hands down his partner's torso, squeezing his chest before teasing his nipples through his shirt.]

I'll gladly give you a baby. You're gorgeous when you're pregnant.

[Cassian made a pleased little noise, just as happy to suddenly find himself at Ben's mercy as he was every time Ben touched and teased him with his skilled hands.

He bit his bottom lip sharply as his back arched, pushing his body up and against Ben all the more.]

So are you. Just - ah! - irresistible.

[Ben pulled off Cassian's shirt and tossed it off the bed.]

I don't have to be in heat to get pregnant. It just makes it easier if I am.

[He leaned in and pressed a kiss to one still swollen breast before moving down and wrapping his lips around a swollen nipple.]

[Cassian shifted accordingly, laughing breathlessly once he was suitably disrobed, gazing up at Ben with the utmost affection lighting up his eyes, a wry little smile lifting his lips at the edges.]

Trying to woo me with how fertile you are? You're shameless.

[Not that he was complaining - far from it. The idea that anytime they made love, they could create a child that was part of each other was exciting. Cassian gasped and shuddered as Ben kissed him - and then decided to suckle a nipple that was so sensitive it hurt.

But it hurt in all the best ways as Cassian carded his fingers through Ben's thick hair, tugging gently at the strands caught between.]

[Ben pulled off Cassian's nipple and looked up at his partner. He grinned at him before pinching the other nipple.]

You love it when I'm shameless. When I'm desperate to be fucked, to be eaten out. When all I can do is beg you.

[He then pulled off his own shirt and tossed it to the ground. He was still breastfeeding his and Jyn's daughter and it was evident when he pulled off his shirt.]

[Cassian shuddered all the harder, more certain than ever that Ben liked having him at his mercy, too. He knew just how lucky he was not only to love Ben and be loved by Ben in return, but to have the same with Bodhi and Jyn, too.

To be making a family with them all.]

Of course I do. You're so gorgeous when you're needy.

[He watched Ben remove his shirt with interest, reaching out to place a hand at his hip, and to squeeze gently.]

You still sore?

[Ben shivered at the touch, the squeeze. He smiled at the other man and leaned down to kiss him.]

Only when I need to pump or feed Lyra.

[He rolled his hips against Cassian's.]

I love you...

[Cassian returned the smile, hazy as his own was. He offered no hesitation whatsoever when it came to returning the kiss, happy to be close, happy to be sharing this moment with Ben.]

You're such a good Papa, Ben. Any child that has you for a father is so incredibly lucky.

[Of course, the words died on the tip of Cassian's tongue as Ben rocked against him, his grip tightening, his body responding, pressing upward, desperate for more contact.]

I - I love you, too.

[Ben let out a breath and pressed their brows together. He moved and nuzzled the man's neck. Cassian smelled so good.]

Will you please fuck me?

[He rolled his hips against Cassian's, panting softly. He shuddered and groaned, eyes closing at the feeling.]

[Cassian took the opportunity to try to catch his breath, despite the fact that in no time, he knew he would lose it all over again in the instant that he sank into Ben's welcoming body.

He slowly dragged his nails up the length of Ben's back, a soft groan the only thing he uttered in the wake of the question. Ben already knew what Cassian's answer was going to be.

But it was incredibly hot to hear him ask. Just as he thought it was probably incredibly sexy for Ben to hear his reply.]

Basic rundown is that he's the leader of a gang, has a really bad past, and assumes this is kind of where he's meant to be and he's not good enough for anything else.
