No, really, it's like Oprah on a bender, everyone gets a pair! They can be feathery, leathery, tattered, pristine, made out of glitter, feathers, tissue paper or star-stuff.

The only limit is your imagination (and reference pics, if that's your thing)

Maybe your character has always had their wings, maybe they just woke up with them for the first time this morning like an odd take on Gregor Samsa, it's entirely up to you.

The first sign Crowley gets that something might be Wrong, is when a figure grabs him, drags him into an alleyway, and slams him bodily against the wall.

"What the hell did you do to me?" The source of Constantine's anger is likely easily guess; it's probably got something to do with the huge, black feathered wings that arc over them both.

Crowley's first instinct when grabbed and dragged into a dark alley way was something along the lines of shitshitshit shit shit fuck they found out. Constantly living with the constant fear that either Heaven or Hell would eventually find out about his and Aziraphale's little switch tended to make one a little paranoid, you see.

So when the panic settled long enough for him to process that it was Constantine who had snatched, he let whatever desperate escape plan he had been hastily slapping together fall away.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You don't just grab a demon like that and- and-- and-----" Finally, the rest of the scene managed to sink in. Along with the sight of some bloody massive fucking wings towering over them. "Oh... that can't be good."

{ He has battered wings, each feather with a hint of black on them as if they are at the peak of nearly changing into a full iridescent coating. Raven-like feathers in angles of blue and purple shades, not knowing which one will win out. If you look close enough, you can see them vibrant under the moonlight, and when dipped in blood they shine even more, maybe even look truly black; something of which he tries to avoid. Occasional splatter occurs around too many crime scenes, and tucking them away is only tedious. The more he rejects the full pattern shift of his wings, the more he looses feathers and to be left without flight is almost a kinder fate. He finds the idea of being permanently grounded almost appealing.
