Some of these places may be less hospitable to life than others, but all present their own unique challenges... and all command respect, for both their beauty and their power to support or end a life. Wherever you may travel, and for whatever reason, mind your environment. The wilderness can support you, but it can also ruin you. Will you fight it, or adapt to it?

[It was fortunate that they had found this cave amidst the sudden storm. It was unfortunate that a camp of hilichurls had been occupying the entrance and the already weary travelers had to fight and clear the way before actually being able to breathe easy. Not that he was probably going to be breathing easy for a few days yet after taking quite the hit to the chest from one of the burly ones, shield at the ready and charging at Kaeya before the Calvary Captain could freeze it in place.

He really hated those things.

With a soft grunt, Kaeya settled against the rock wall once he had his coat draped over a small boulder to dry, the fire crackling between him and Aether. He lifted a knee and rested an arm atop, his movements were stiff but he made no indication that he was hurting.]

[It's probably some time after everything; you can't really blame anyone involved for not jumping to go right back into the woods again. But they both know - you always end up going back eventually. Best to prepare now, when things are still okay.

When he first came to Whitetail, back when he picked up Peregrine's story, Brett hadn't had any desire to learn those survival techniques for himself. Frankly, he still doesn't really want to get elbow-deep in a deer. But now that he's spending so much time at the cabin, miles from town, where the cell service and the new electrical hook-up are both pretty spotty...he understands, when Peregrine offers to teach him a few things. It makes sense. Sure, he's not here full-time, and he's often not alone, but still - what would he do if the worst happened?

This time, he is alone. Luca was disappointed to miss the trip, but he had a shoot to go to. Things like that are typical for them, both sort of freelance artists; you roll with it. Hopefully he'll make the next one.]
