[ when he gets back on the brünhild he must absolutely bring some of these plants on board for the greenhouse in the estate back in odin. he is particularly fond of the species of maple here that turns a brilliant red, and the plum trees that turn an arresting shade of dark burgundy as the fall comes. it's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen so far in his travels, and takes from the stress and annoyance of playing politics altogether.
not that reinhard has ever lacked skill for navigating the delicacies of negotiating the cooperation of one empire to another. far from it. he's just of the opinion he shouldn't be the one to do it considering this isn't really his job nor a talent of his. kircheis is the more diplomatic of the two of them. reinhard von lohengramm is who you send if you want to wage war on a nation and come out victorious; and perhaps this is the reason why he was sent in anyway, as a show of force and an intimidation tactic on part of the empire, but far be it from him to start questioning his superiors now when they've room for civil war.
all the same: he enjoys the scenery. it's beautiful and it makes the trip here worth it, in between meetings and dinners and such. a trip outside is just the thing to break the monotony of the days. ]
