Developing Adventures

One of my favourite things to do is start a scenario, then just see where it goes. Both players have just as much control over introducing new elements, running NPCs, so on. Something as simple as a big monster appearing to big cosmic problems, it's all good. While it lends itself well to superhero situations, J'onn gets involved in all sorts of situations.

The Alien Reveal

Something I've wanted to do for a while is have a character know one of his identities and in some dramatic fashion discover that GASP he is an alien! Either deliberately because they've gotten close, or some kind of emergency (like he gets set on fire).

Adventures in Brainspace

Diving into someone's brain in one of those metaphor laden mind scape things. I love those.

Martian Mentor

A couple of times, J'onn has been the guy helping rookies get used to the super hero game. I'd love to play that out.

Let's do some time travel - looking for Doctors.

Honestly, Claire is a perfect companion. Time traveler raised by an archaeologist, healer, possible immortal witch. She's at a point in her life where this could happen and she'd love traveling and helping beings around the galaxy.

It's so easy to plot any sort of scenario; I love the Weeping Angels; the standing stones (if you're Outlander canon familiar) are basically angels before they're carved out. Anyway, just really obsessed with DW and Outlander and now I need to mash them together in every single way possible with all Doctors; I'm shameless and easy.

It isn't long before he eventually runs into the very same ( older ) Loki that he himself pruned, after an argument about family and loyalty. They'd previously formed a symbiotic bond to one another, but had both been warped by two very dark pieces of magic, which caused the distrust between the two variants. ( My ) Loki realizes which version of him he is and immediately tries to run away, but nearly gets himself eaten by Alioth when he tries taking off to fly. His older self yanks him up from the ground after he falls, and they both manage to get away from the timeline eating entity. — ( *insert angry makeup sex, maybe?* ~~masturbation?~~ *idk dramatic self-loving scene with lots of hair flips bc, ahem, powerplay?* )
❛ SOULMATE BONDING AU ❜ — where mating and touch is a necessary thing, and if they're separated for too long, the lack of physical contact gradually begins to hurt them and put them through pain. Touching can also invoke climax if done just right, without even having sex or touching erogenous zones. — ( would also be great doing this with any other wanted ships! )

❛ DARK OBSESSION ❜ — Variant #L1091 has been consumed by dark magic, that only seems to be growing each day. But with such enormous power, comes even greater depression and loneliness. Finding another version of himself on another timeline, he fixates on the younger Loki, watching him everyday for almost a week. Until he is no longer able to hold himself back. He intended on kidnapping the other God of Mischief, but was surprised to find just how receptive the other Loki was to the thought of belonging to him. — ( *D/s? Petplay? DD/lb? idk a love that will break through his darkness?* )

❛ WAKE UP, LOKI! ❜ — POST LOKI 1x06 *SPOILERS* ( My ) Loki has crossed over into ( your ) Loki's timeline and is focused on waking them up, and also saving other versions of themselves from walking down their predetermined paths and dying. Since the Sacred Timeline began splitting, there's nothing stopping him from searching the infinite timelines for all the other Loki's. — ( also open to Sylvie's )

I'mma be honest, that Dark Obsession storyline sounds very much like my cup of tea. If I might propose a twist? Perhaps your variant could kidnap (ie, rescue) the other Loki from Thanos/the Black Order, to add a little angst or hurt-comfort to the mix.

Omg, yes! Tysm for commenting! I'm absolutely fine with that twist, since I haven't specified just where on the younger Loki's timeline that he's from. My Loki could have caught him after the events of Ragnarok? And like you suggested, rescue him from Thanos. Since my variant is able to fly, he would be able to catch them before your Loki hands over the Tesseract, or even during the fight? He would have a Timedoor opened somewhere closeby to drag him away, and maybe even Thor? I think your Loki would have to grab Thor, or convince my Loki to take him, because my Loki would be more concerned with yours' safety than their own brothers'. Or they could leave him, and create more ~drama~

Bat-Family Reconciliation

I would love to play out how members of the Bat-Family reconciled with Jason, with the Under the Red Hood events being recent. Generally, I prefer the animated movies' version of the story but I'm willing to work out details from the comics too. There's so many good options for modern AU set ups and I'd love to mess with them. Sizhui with single dad Lan Zhan (or Wei Ying for that matter), or with any of his family, just exploring relationships and stuff in a different setting. This stuff is just my JAM

Family Reunion

I really, REALLY like family dynamics, and there's so many good options for Sizhui. I would play genuinely play a dozen different variations on the reunion with WWX, but I'm also really, really interested in things like the first time he meets Jiang Cheng after it's been revealed that he's Wen Yuan (because UNCLE JIANG), and everybody lives variations with Jiang Yanli and especially Wen Qing, who deserves to see A-Yuan grown up more than anybody

Canon Divergence - A Different Path

I love the idea of exploring versions of canon where Yuan wasn't found by Lan Zhan. Maybe he was adopted by somebody else? Maybe he wasn't found by anybody but still managed to survive and make his own way in the world? Maybe he stayed in the burial mounds and taught himself demonic cultivation with the things WWX left behind? THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS

Soulmate AU

I am a SUCKER for soulmate AUs of the 'name on your skin' variety, especially for characters who change their name - you see where I'm going with this. This works as a concept spectacularly well with Jin Ling, because can you imagine the ANGST of that boy with a Wen name on him, but I'm also down to do this with Jingyi or Zizhen or even more out there ideas

Living as immortal

Basically what I'd love is a chance for Ganymede to talk to other immortal humans about how it is to live like that. Sure, he isn't really as immersed in general human life as other immortal humans might be, but he's still very attached to humanity in general. Either starting from both knowing they're both immortal, or having that reveal during. If you don't want to deal with "Greek gods exist" Ganymede can lie about and elide how he became immortal/etc.

Historical Ancient Rome&Greece

Ganymede interacting with characters from this era, whether a specific canon or not! I don't have any great desires here, but just the idea of him moving about and trying to fit in during these particular hundreds of years since they're definitely important to him would be great. Like above, if you don't want to deal with "the gods actually exist" that can be worked around, but including such reveals would be cool as well.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Untamed, but theoretically the characters are working towards immortality and it's fanon (if not canon) that some of them manage it, I'd be down for doing something with a world where Sizhui has managed it and is a few hundred years old (but still the adorable baby face he is in canon)}

Ganymede wasn't often this far east. The world was large, and as exciting as that undeniably was, especially with literally all the time in the world to explore it, he was, also, perfectly fine with staying close to home. The changes that happened as years passed drew his attention as much as new, faraway places did.

Which was why it'd been at least two hundred years since he'd been around here, and he certainly wasn't expecting to see anything familiar when everything was rather unfamiliar.

Which was why he walked straight past and then froze, staring at nothing in front of him. He could have sworn... Turning around, Ganymede didn't much think about how it might look, or sound, if he was wrong, but it was easy to excuse thinking you'd seen someone familiar.

"Excuse me," he said, reaching out, no less surprised than he'd been the first time, because he wasn't wrong, he was sure. "I think I've seen you before."

Of course, maybe it was a risk to talk to someone who might be a couple hundred years old, but Ganymede had more than enough protection to have little to nothing to fear.

Lan Sizhui tended to spend a lot of time near home, as well - it wasn't that he didn't like to travel, he did, but he still had family here, and more often than not any relatives or old friends who resurfaced in new lifetimes tended to do it in the same sort of area, and he never wanted to stay away for too long in case he missed them.

He thought nothing of the young man he walked past in the street, he was mostly looking at his phone anyway, sending a text to a friend and only half paying attention to his surroundings, until that young man called out to him and he looked up apruptly, slightly startled.

"I'm sorry I don't-" he began in softly accented English, ready to brush the encounter off as a case of mistaken identity - and then he actually looked at the person talking to him. He frowned.

"...where?" he asked cautiously, because there was something familiar about him, too, but familiar from a long time ago, and that always required a little extra caution.

Where, indeed. But the question wasn't really 'where', but rather when, and Ganymede could, after a beat or two of peering at the young man he'd accosted, pinpoint it to a little over 150 years ago. Exact date and time was harder - he'd have to think more to get that - for while his memory was thankfully excellent in general, that was fine-grained to a point that usually wasn't actually useful.

"Not on this street," he said with a wry little twist of a smile, mostly to stall, and shifted on his feet. Shifted a shoulder up in a shrug, and decided caution wasn't the better part of valour in this circumstance. "But I don't think where is the right question, but rather when, isn't it?"

Gently rolling that ball back to this strange familiar but of course also unfamiliar face. Walking past someone - he thought he might have been out alone that day, and had had to ask for directions, but that was all - didn't make someone much of an acquaintance.

His head tilted curiously as he inspected the other with a thoughtful expression - when didn't seem all that important to most people, not when 'where' was just as good, but if the when was particularly important, that would suggest...

Understanding dawned on his face as that long-ago familiarity made much more sense. A descendant was unlikely given the recognition, which meant a reincarnation possibly, or somebody as long lived as himself? Given that the lack of change in the other man would make for an incredible coincidence if it was the former, he guessed probably the latter.

"It is when," he agreed, his lips twitching with suppressed laughter at a joke that only made sense to him "I think it has been... a long time. I don't believe we exchanged names, then?"

"No," Ganymede agreed with a shake of his head, smiling faintly. "I only asked for directions, though I believe I was quite a bit more lacking in my language skills, then!"

Usually that was never a problem, since he didn't often go alone anywhere he didn't know the language. He'd been starting to learn, back then, and hadn't thought he would have to use it on the very first time he did take a curious jaunt by himself during their visit.

"I'm Ganymede," he said, for here he wouldn't expect his name to garner any knowledge or interest, even on the level of myth. There was thus no reason not to go with anything but his actual name, even if he still didn't know how and why the young man in front of him was as long-lived as he clearly must be.

"You managed to make yourself understood," Sizhui says with a soft smile, though in truth the poor grasp of the language had been part of what made the encounter stick in his mind - somebody asking for directions might have gone entirely forgotten if it hadn't been for the fact that foreigner were quite rare at the time, so his appearance and his attempts at the language had both made the meeting more memorable.

Sizhui was quite well versed in a lot of mythology - a lot of Chinese mythology, so the name doesn't particularly catch his attention or offer the explanation for Ganymede's own longevity the way it might for someone more familiar with western tales.

"Lan Sizhui," he introduces himself with a small bow - nothing so elaborate as the kind he might have done in his youth, that sort of thing had mostly fallen out of fashion by now, but old habits died hard. "Lan is my family name." he adds, having picked up enough about western culture to know that might not be immediately obvious to the other man.

"...Were you on your way anywhere? Would you perhaps like to find a cafe and talk?" he suggests impulsively. It's a long, long time since he's met anybody like him beyond his own extended family, and he's fascinated.

Fortunately. Ganymede laughs, perhaps a little embarrassed at how much worse he was back then, but even if he's pretty intuitive with languages, they still take time to learn, and some are harder than others.

"I've learned that much," he says with a lopsided smile, not exactly bowing fully but answering Sizhui's bow with a graceful bend of his head, then shakes it after straightening up. "Nowhere that can't be delayed for a little bit. I'd be very interested in that."

That's one of the great things with time, when you have so much of it. Usually it's very easy to simply decide to let something wait until later, if another matter pops up instead. Since he wasn't on his way to meeting anyone, which would be the only thing Ganymede would right now pay attention to as worthy of declining, he sees no reason not to accept.

Sizhui smiles brightly at the agreement and glances up and down the street for a moment before making a decision.

"This way," he motions for the other man to follow him, then pauses "Oh, unless you had somewhere you'd like to go?"

Since he knows the town he suspects that won't be the case, which is why his instinct had been to just choose somewhere himself in the first place, but he realises belatedly that he shouldn't just assume such things, it verged on rude - and Sizhui hated to be rude.

Teacher/Parent Modern AU

Based on an amazing fic I read, and also the fact that this trope SLAPS, I really love the idea of a teacher/parent modern AU for WWX and LWJ, I actually don't mind which way round this goes, or how old Yuan is (That's me, up there, with Sizhui, so I can also play him as a secondary character in this scenario), or what they're a teacher OF, I just need this trope in my life.

Reincarnation AU

Just like it says on the tin. Lan Zhan cultivated immortality and has been looking for the reincarnated WWX? Rip out my heart and let's do it. Alternatively they both reincarnate. I just love the idea of them finding one another again.

TFA Divergence

An obvious choice but hey. Let's see what happens if that conversation on the catwalk goes differently. Or maybe there's an alternative scenario where Kylo crosses paths with one or both of her parents at an earlier point.

Alternatively: TLJ divergence where Kylo successfully stops her wingmates from firing on the Raddus, prevents Leia's near-death, and essentially swaps sides (if perhaps temporarily, given what she'd really like to do is get out of the war entirely).

Force Ghosts

Kylo spent years thinking she was talking to her grandfather; having it actually happen would be A+. Open to scenarios where Anakin truly had been trying to reach her but Snoke/Palpatine interfered or prevented the contact. Also very here for TROS divergence with granddaughter and grandfather teaming up to deal with Palpatine, or Anakin appearing when Palpatine tries to kill her.

Pretty much game for visits from/interactions with any potential Force ghosts, and at just about any canon point.

General Canon Divergence

There's no shortage of moments that could have gone differently, or different ways things could have played out. Not just in the films, but pre-films as well. What if she had been told the full truth about her grandfather, not lied to and only finding out when the rest of the galaxy did? What if she had been given a choice about becoming a Jedi or not? What if she had felt comfortable mentioning her "not-so-imaginary friend" to her parents or uncle? Maybe things still go wrong that night at the temple, but what if Luke or her parents try to find her or reconnect? I could go on and on.

Post Canon Fallout

The final act has played out and Nie Huaisang's cover as the helpless headshaker is forever blown. With new, unwelcome truths now out in the open, Nie Huaisang shows that he can be just as ruthless as he was once thought to be useless. Especially if his sect is threatened.

Even Better than Sabers

Never one for cultivating a strong core or becoming a master at the saber arts, Nie Huaisang finds he has a talent for talismans. When one such talisman goes awry, chaos ensues.

I'd kill for some game discussion with Megumi (forming their bet), Minamimoto (pre-Udagawa) or Hanekoma (the... taboo. Thing.) I know these are rare characters so... ha, but hey. This is the time and place.

Post wewy accidents

Neku's not going to see Joshua again, but I'd love to sort of... pretend. ~~The Kingdom Hearts cameo did not spark joy, ok~~

The Situation (is Gender)™

[Spoilers?] Scenarios that force him to face and/or process gender identity stuff: immediate post-canon chafing against compulsory femininity is a big one that comes to mind. Basically, the ~~bullshit~~ "happy ending" turns sour. Maybe it involves putting in a good faith effort to be performatively feminine and failing disastrously? Going on the world's most miserable date with someone who also doesn't want to be there? Having a drink with characters who can commiserate, or exist in a setting with a fairly rigid gender binary? hmu

(Note: Not looking to play it as traumatic gender dysphoria so much as "wow, now that I'm here, this sucks ass and I miss having like, any agency or power, and boy howdy, I'm SOME kind of gay.")

Use Your Indoor Voice

I like situations where he's obliged to operate within the bounds of Polite Society for a bit. Fancy parties, ceremonies, weddings, etc. etc. Especially if it involves playing off of personalities who are polar opposites. Any overarching conflict/plotline is negotiable.

Generally prefer compatible canons (fantasy or fantasy-adjacent) for both of the above, but can be flexible.

With the caveats that a) I'd have to set up an RP journal for the character I have in mind, b) I've only seen a few episodes of Escaflowne, and c) it would probably take some wrangling/AUing/canon smushing for the scenario to make sense because Hamefura and Escaflowne are pretty damn different tone-wise:

The Schezar family seem to be socially important so it feels plausible to me that some well-meaning person might recommend Celena for the boarding school that Maria Campbell attends. Logic being that a boarding school full of upper crust types would be a good environment for a noble girl in need of a proper re-education for her social position and that maybe she could make some friends her own age.

Maria's on the student council and generally a goody-two-shoes type, so I can see her volunteering to show Dilandau around and tell him about the school after he's agreed to visit/scope out the place as a prospective student. (A situation I am guessing he will regret within five minutes, for several reasons.)

I'm definitely canon-blind myself, but could wiki it and/or use the "prospective student" angle.

The idea totally makes practical, narrative sense, both for socialization and getting caught up on ten years' worth of education. The idea of trying to fit in with nice AND noble girls sounds like the perfect kind of torture (for everyone involved).

I'm game, but totally your call if you want to go to the trouble of setting up the fresh journal!

I'd definitely also be doing a lot of wiki-squinting, so no worries there.

The premise is a little meta/hard to explain because it involves the protagonist, Katarina Claes, originally being a normal world person who got reincarnated into the world of an otome game she'd played before dying, and Maria herself is supposed to be the protagonist of the show-within-a-show. I think for simplicity's sake it'd be better to like, nudge the meta stuff aside- it'd mostly just affect Maria's social situation within the academy and how Katarina behaves if we wound up NPC-ing her.

I'd definitely be happy to set up a journal for Maria, it'll just take me a little time to sort out. I'll DM you when I'm done!
