[ Yuri looks at the water, which stretches out pretty far in front of them, one hand on his hip. There was a boat here. There was supposed to be a boat here, but there certainly isn't a boat here.

He looks out at the sea, bemused. He can just barely see the shore of the mainland, but it's pretty far away. That would be along way to swim. If, well, if he could swim well at all. That's one thing about growing up in a landlocked city surrounded by monsters: swimming wasn't really an essential skill. ]

[Nice as Arendelle is, it's lovely to be back in Altea for spring and summer. ... Even though Kristoff still hates the heat of his adopted homeland after all these years, you'd think he would've adapted by now. In any case, at least the crystal blue Mediterranean waters of Altea should lend some respite from it for their trip to the beach. .... And hopefully Allura's own blush didn't look like sunstroke as she came out of the changing stall. Normally she tended towards more modest swimsuits... one-pieces, especially swimdresses, maybe a tankini if it was really cute. Not only was Altean clothing more modest on principle, Altea's shores tended to have creatures swimming in it that would make the most hardened Australian don a full diving suit and plate armor before diving in. But a few of her girl friends had begged her to get this one, especially this was her first summer with Kristoff as a couple instead of the two mutually pining over each other.

To say that Rachel had needed a vacation was an understatement, but she'd been good about waiting for her scheduled one. Now that she was sitting on the beach, just a few steps away from her own private bungalow she actually felt a sense of pride that she had waited. Rachel had a bad habit of panicking in the moment and running away. Being on a planned vacation felt well earned and it came without the gnawing anxiety of whether she'd made the right choice or not.

If she was being honest, her traveling companion was definitely part of the reason she hadn't jumped ship and run away from Broadway to Hollywood. Over the last few months, Jesse St. James had helped her get her feet back under her. She'd been able to stand up to Sidney and demand the rights that she was owed under the protection of the union. He'd had to hire another understudy and put an on-call actress in place in case of emergency. He'd had to accept that she wasn't going to be on stage for every single performance and that she was done with the threats. She'd taken back her power and in the process begun healing in other areas of her life.

Perhaps best of all was that she was falling in love again, something that she hadn't felt possible. She'd always cared for Jesse, but it was as if their stars had never quite aligned. He'd been like a light in the dark and he'd helped to remind her of who she was and what she'd wanted from life. He hadn't made any decisions for her, willing to let her make her own choices which was unique enough in itself, but he'd stood by her as she made them.

They were taking things slowly; dating and getting to know each other again. She was remembering why she'd fallen in love with him in the first place. They were so alike, both driven and ambitious in the same areas. He balanced out her drama but understood it, and he didn't want her to be anything she wasn't. He really seemed to care about all of her. So when the opportunity had been presented to her that he wanted to take her away to one of his favorite beaches, she'd gladly accepted, knowing that she was also accepting that their relationship was likely to change.

Now, sitting out on the beach waiting for him to join her after he wraps up with a phone call, she takes in the setting sun on their first night in what was basically paradise. She's content and happy in a way she hasn't felt in a long time, maybe never, and she's excited for everything the long weekend has to offer.
