[ a scruffy looking man sits alone at a booth, hoarding the entire thing to himself despite the denny's being absolutely packed. dark bags beneath his eyes tell you he hasn't slept in quite some time. don't worry, he's doctoring that with some of the most disgusting coffee he's had since the last time he was at a denny's. luckily he's too consumed in his work to really taste the stale and burnt drip coffee and only downs it to take advantage of the caffeine.

speaking of his work, it's splayed all across the table. if you dare to look there's files upon files of background checks on this person or that person and photos galore of pieces of evidence. look too closely and you'll find pictures of the crime scene - a grizzly homicide. the poor woman's met a gruesome end that would shake the average person to their core.

the detective isn't too tired, however, not to notice the prying eyes. he looks up and grunts. ]
