I can play him from far earlier in the game where he is more of a sweet, unsullied puppy, where he'd be a better listener, probably. Your call!]

(ooc | If you're okay with crosscanon, would you be interested in Ash? These two canons have some of the same themes so I think it seems really interesting.

If you're interested, my pitch is a spin on the meme. Ash himself is a gang boss and while he's not nearly as bad of a person as he thinks, he's definitely harder than Keisuke's normal puppiness. So, maybe something begins when Keisuke is puppy to Ash's harder persona, gets deep enough for him to know how good Keisuke is and care enough to fight for him ((when he falls, he'll fight like hell for them)) and then in turns, gets to do the redeeming?

There's some info on Ash in his pages, but his series comes with trigger warnings as bad as Keisuke's so as as heads up. )

( The sandskiff had stopped in the middle of the fold, sunlight creating a dome around the craft, keeping the darkness that dared to swallow them whole at bay. Somewhere in the distance where Novokribirsk stood, screams of people dying as they were slain by Volcra screeched as they feasted.

Give me a chance to stop this, she begged.

Tears staining her cheeks, hating herself for begging, but there was little else she could do. People were dying, and if she didn't do something, all of Novokribirsk would be lost. Alina clung to his kefta, looking up at him with the expression of a girl that would do anything for this chance. By some miracle of the Saints, Alina managed to convince the Darkling to forfeit control of the amplifier to her. However, he held his own reservations about her abilities against the Unsea as she lacked the training most Grisha had in the Small Science.

The full power of the stag roared through her body, similar to that night the collar was placed around her neck, but this was truly endless, and her body hungered for more. She yeared for things she didn't know existed, but the collar knew — Morozova's other amplifiers were out there waiting for her.

Spreading her arms wide, Alina called forth as much light to her body as she could, expanding the dome that surrounded the sandskiff to force back the darkness. Further, she thought as she pushed the boundaries of her abilities, drawing in the power of the stag to help her banish the darkness and free Ravka from the Fold. The light seemed to shove the darkness back effortlessly — expanding the protective dome of light further than she thought she was able.

More, she demanded as another pulse of bright light erupted from her. Exposing the blue sky above them and cheers began erupting behind her, a few shouting the Sun Summoner is going to destroy the Fold once and for all, and even the hushed whisper of Sankta, Sankta Alina.

Alina's body began to tremble as she continued to push her powers beyond the limits she knew, causing the light to continue to spread but then — she met a block, and there was no more. Stupid girl, she heard Baghra's voice sharp in her mind, you should have run when you had the chance. The light around her began wavering, collapsing against the impending darkness that took advantage of the limit she found and quickly began closing on them.

No, she cried out, falling to her knees as she tried to keep the darkness at bay, but her powers no longer listened to her. It seemed the darkness was going to engulf them once more, but she had just enough power to keep a faint glow around the sandskiff that kept the Volcra from devouring them as they had the people of Novokribirsk.

She tried her best and failed.

Grief whipped through her body, causing her to tremble and cry out with each lash. The Darkling had his demonstration and would begin his reign over Ravka with the Sun Summoner at his side. Somewhere during all of this, Mal managed to escape his bonds and came running for the Darkling but stopped short as Ivan gripped Mal's heart. The oprichniki took advantage of this, throwing Mal overboard at the Darkling's command; Alina cried out as Mal was swallowed by darkness; leathery wings and shrieks could be heard surrounding him as the sandskiff began making its way back to Kribirsk.

She wanted to fight back, but using her powers had left her weak; she could barely rise to her feet before almost topping over — clinging to the Darkling for support.

Save him, she begged again. Her fingers were gripping his kefta once more as she tried to shake some sense into him. Please, save him, she murmured as her head began swimming — a Heartrender forcing her to calm, and darkness engulfed her as well once they emerged into the light of Kribirsk.

Alina remained under the effects of the Heartrender until they reached Os Alta, placed in the Darkling's chambers to recover, and she slept for several more days. Recklessly using her abilities had taken a toll on the Sun Summoner, and while the healers healed her to the best of their abilities, it would still take some time for Alina's body to recover fully.

When she finally awoke, it was out of a nightmare, leaving Alina screaming as she thrashed about in the dark silks — unsure of where she was, she sat up and looked around. She was in a familiar room decorated in dark wood that resembled a dense forest and a doomed obsidian ceiling speckled with mother-of-pearl representing the night sky. )

Why ( she sobbed, burying her face in her hands. Even if she couldn't see him, Alina knew he was there watching her. )
