Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... HOW TO PLAY: Comment with your character, your prefs, etc. If there are other grooming-related practices or kinks you'd like to include, like shaving, hair washing, mention them! Reply to others!

[ The combination of a steady downfall and slick earth means that they're filthy and mud-splattered by the time they finish their mission. Successfully, of course, because Eustace doesn't go into anything with an abundance of preparation under his (too many) belt(s). That, and Cassius has always been able to hold his own, even when they'd been two combatants on nebulously opposite sides.

Still, that doesn't mean they've escaped wholly unscathed. There are smears of blood across fabric and armor and Eustace can feel the beginnings of an ugly bruise forming underneath his ribs. That doesn't stop him from methodically stripping off his armor once they enter the communal showers, expression steely as always. ]

If you want hot water, you'll have to let it run for two minutes.

Daniel isn't sure why he keeps coming around, fussing over Johnny like a mother hen. Johnny made it quite clear that they're not friends. That they're only in this together to get rid of Kreese. Yet here he is. Again. Almost like clockwork.

He looks Johnny up and down. The bruising around his throat isn't quite so purple and angry. There's some greens and yellows mottled across his skin now. He can only imagine that his other bruises look the same.

The air in the apartment feels stale and there's definitely more than a hint of ody odour and stale sweat lingering. And Johnny looks as though he could do with a decent hairwash and a shave. Not that Daniel's judging. He's just concerned. He's pretty sure Johnny won't see it that way though.

When you're on the march during a war, there's little time or opportunity for anything like modesty or privacy, even for the generals. You bathe when you can, snatch moments here and there to groom in between all your many other responsibilities and hope an ambush doesn't catch you with your pants down. You don't have the luxury of waiting for the next warm bath when there's one drawn up already - sometimes, you just have to share when resources and time are limited.

So Ingrid's used to that sort of thing, and she's shared the bath in the nobles' washroom tent with others plenty of times without awkwardness or embarrassment. She's a soldier. This is war. She's not delicate in any sense of the word, never has been. And things are really coming to a head, now. Tomorrow, they'll march into Enbarr. Tomorrow, the war ends, one way or another.

But she doesn't anticipate her king being there when she ducks through the flap of the bathing tent.
