Roxy returns the smile, "Thanks! I like your hair too, I used to have pink hair a couple of years ago but chopped it off because I felt I needed a change."

She motions at her own hair with a laugh, "Okay and by needed a change I mean I broke up with a guy. Isn't it funny how girls always change their hair after breaks ups?"

She grins wryly at the statement about needing a change, ruffling up her hair as if to say she completely understood. Which she does.

More so at the statement about guys. Chuckling, she nods and rolls her eyes. "Something about the control and the lack of control, I think." Although for her it's lack of control in both halves. Annoying.

"Is that why you're here? Stupid guys and independent hairstyles?"

[Well, this is just downright embarrassing but Mobius also isn't one to weasel his way out of a bet after he's already lost either so here he is, honoring the terms of his agreement (with who it's difficult to say. Probably Ravonna. Equally likely to be a Loki of some description) with as much dignity as he can muster.

There's also a drink at his elbow. A big one. And, sipping steadily at it, Mobius is finding that it's really helping. Not a huge amount, granted, but some and he'll take what he can get at this point.

His name badge reads: Mobius M. Mobius, age: indeterminate. occupation: space cowboy.]

[It's a complete mystery, virtually impossible to figure who put up a bet that Mobius was destined to lose. Oh, that's up to many debates to come. But the fact that Loki is now unceremoniously pulling back a chair and dropping on it as if it was his own damn throne? Now, of course its unexpected. He is the personification of chaos, after all.

The chair screeches on the tiled floor as Loki pulls it closer towards the table. Folding his arms over it, he cranes his neck and narrows his eyes a she reads that badge.]

[Wait, wait, what? Why is Loki here at all? Except maybe to gloat at Mobius' humiliation and misfortune which, yeah, fine, is pretty on-brand for him but still feels like a low blow, honestly. Aaaaand, he's already criticizing Mobius' choice of descriptor. Well, ain't this just fantastic.

Wordlessly, Mobius drags that oversized tiki drink that he'd been hiding near his elbow so it's sitting front and center, plucking out the tiny paper umbrella, the pineapple leaf, the skewer of maraschino cherries and setting them aside so he can have a slow, gurgling sip through the - yup, you guessed it - curly straw with as much dignity as he can muster.] Mm. Yeah, well, Agent for the Time Variant Authority takes up too much room.

Tonks is a fan of grumpy dudes. Not because she is grumpy herself, but because she's still immature when she can be and will pester a grump until they growl or hide their smile. Moody, she's totally talking 'bout you.

At least, normally she is. But today at the speed dating event, which is a fascinating prospect that she is entirely too curious about, she's talking about the guy scowling at the fishies.

"They eat your pet sea monkey, then?" She asks as she pops up nearby, a shock of pink hair and a grin, as well as a name tag reads in neat handwriting -- Wotcher! Tonks, 25. Not a wig. Sure, you can touch.

Confusion about her age was the least of Quill's problems. Phones were apparently computers now and that was how people met each other, according to Sam Wilson. The only other option was speed dating, and that seemed a little bit closer to how people hooked up on TV, so she decided to go for that. But she hadn't really gotten the hang of it yet, and instead of moving from table to table in a neatly ordered way, when the little bell rang, she mostly ended up just wandering around the room. Trying very, very hard to look casual about the whole thing.

She spied the grumpy guy by the fish tank. Yeah, the long-haired dude from the funeral who kept eyeing Rocket--rightfully so--like the rodent was about to pick his pocket or something.

Quill slipped her left hand into the pocket of her own jacket, making her way over like she hadn't noticed him. Like it was a huge surprise when she looked up at saw a guy that was vaguely familiar.

...except she couldn't remember his name.

"Hey..." She stalled, hoping it would come to her. It didn't come to her. "...dude!" she finished, her voice rising a few decibels as she tried to make it sound natural.

It is a prohibitive age difference either way, but she’ll still try to enjoy the limited time on their clock. She’ll also try not to unpack any complicated feelings about another redheaded career-focused Starfleet officer.]

The advice I’ve been given for first dates is to keep the conversation casual, but it’s hard to pass up the subject of theoretical engineering.

I mean, if I'm supposed to get to know someone really fast, small talk isn't exactly going to cut it, right? I think talking about the improvements I made in recalibrating the phased positron converters to more efficiently filter out ambient gravimetric and polaron distortions probably tells someone more about me than where I'd go on my dream shore leave. I mean, everyone just picks Risa for that one anyways, right? Although come to think of it, I'm more of a museums-and-theatre tourist than a beach tourist so-
