Man or machine - or does it even matter? How will we define "personhood" in an age when artificial intelligence is perfected, and humans can integrate seamlessly with technology? After all, a consciousness is a consciousness, even if it's artificial. Perhaps even if that consciousness is programmed for a specific purpose, like helping you around the house, protecting you, or keeping you company - for even highly specialized AIs learn, experience, and feel like any other. Some may even surpass humankind in intelligence and wisdom, while others are indistinguishable from regular people. Surely that makes these beings more than tools.

But of course, programming is still programming.... right?

[ Monika is definitely the android. She can either be an android natively (full AU route), or she was extracted from DDLC and placed into a mechanical body. When it comes to what kind of android, she is likely a 1 (Home AI) or a 2 (Companion). She can also be a very inefficient 3 (Battlebot). Regardless of the kind and of her origin, she's a very devoted android. Maybe too devoted. Whoever her owner is, she will be very protective and very attached.

Scenario 6 could work well with someone trying to corrupt her by introducing glitches and viruses in her programming, especially if her owner thinks her code of ethics is too strict. On the other hand, Scenario 7 can work as either some sort of mechanical hurt/comfort or a fluffy and cute moment. No 4 or 5 please. I'm happy to go with other kind of scenarios too, if in doubt please message me. ]

[If she's the android, she's a model with a faulty chassis, but an updated internal processor; she'd be a great home AI or a business assistant, if you don't mind how her joints sometimes freeze up.
