DRABBLE! (From Wiki) A short work of fiction of one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

How to play -

1. Top-level with your character. Include prefs and info as you like.
2. Others respond to your top level with a tag of exactly 100 words in length, inspired by one of 100 prompt words below. Take it from there.

Karen greets the new face in her building with a soft smile. Something about him makes her think of two men: one, a prolific killer with gentle hands, and the other, gifted with powers she'd never understand.

She meets his gaze on the stairwell and doesn't see a monster warped by torment or a machine made for combat. She sees his haunted eyes and the weight of his heightened senses.

"Hi, again. I'm…" She points awkwardly back. "32. Did they show you where the laundry room is? I had to find it myself when I moved in three years ago."

[ clones. it's not the strangest thing bucky's heard of - that honor would have to go to the talking cybernetic raccoon with a thing for collecting prosthetics - but it's still strange, nonetheless. it also hits too close to home for his own comfort. ]

So there are how many of you, exactly?

[ it's a question that could be seen as prying, but his tone is mellow, his expression one of simple curiosity, as if they're just discussing an unusual weather pattern. he lifts a mug of coffee to his lips, gazing over the rim at dorian as he waits for a response. ]

[ Bucky chose coffee, Dorian made himself tea; the ritual keeps him soothed somehow, levelled in a sea of paranoia where even this cabin was built to creak with every footstep. Dorian has a better chance against an intruder that can't hide.

As his mug is placed on the table, Dorian leans back to think, lips pressed. He's uncomfortable with the topic, but the tone helps — how sober his guest is, how he's also been through the unbelievable. ]

I have no idea. All of them can replicate. And a lot of them end up killing each other.
