[ It's been a month since Kojiro left to train in Italy, and if Kaoru were a more honest person he would admit that he has not been sleeping well ever since. He's got the right concealer to hide the dark circles under his eyes. He's got enough to keep him busy during the day. He's even working on a program to play his lullaby at night. Though even that does little to help him sleep these days.

He misses Kojiro more than he has the words to say, and no amount of texting or video chat makes it any better. Kojiro has always been an integral part of Kaoru's life, and never has that felt so clear as with his absence.

Of course, when he's talking to Kojiro he hides that all away. He refuses to be a burden on his friend while he is away doing his best to achieve his dream. Surely there's enough stress on his end from living in a foreign place to learning the ins and outs of a kitchen. Kaoru doesn't want to add on to that by sulking during the precious few moments they have to spend together.

That night, Kaoru is exhausted just enough for the lullaby to send him off to sleep, restless though it may be. Inevitably, the last few thoughts he has in consciousness are about Kojiro.
