so, in a way, it's satisfying to ignore her orders and come back with news of failure. the punishment sucks, of course, but knowing Rosenberg is seething at having to report nothing at all helps soothe the hours spent locked up with boring files, rearranging everything for a solid month.

it's about a week and a half into that punishment that Kate makes a decision which may or may not be incredibly stupid, but definitely seems more appealing than another night of rearranging documents.
