Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [ A rendezvous with the pretty bounty hunter definitely took the sting out of a long investigation, that had somehow turned into a wild goose chase through the city. He had happened upon her one night in one of his favourite bars and she had taken his fancy almost immediately, with her sharp wit and flirtatious smile. The next several months had them running into each other, in various locations cross two cities — frequently enough to have him playfully suggest that she might be following him. For the most part, she always caught him in the middle of field work, when he was unable to drag himself away from duty for long. But he always managed to steal time away for her, pressing her close up against the wall, so they couldn’t be seen, murmuring in her ear, making plans, urging her to meet him after he had finished for the day. There were a handful of times where they had met up for a drink only to end up back at his place or a hotel, depending on the city — breathing hard, and straining against each other in the dark, bed creaking under their combined effort.

He enjoyed the casual relationship they had. She didn’t want commitment, something he couldn’t afford to give anyway. She didn’t cling to him as most women did. She gave him his space and he did the same. The statement comes a bit out of nowhere, but upon taking in the much darker skin of the man sitting opposite him, might make more sense. He's busy winding his hair up and out of the way, having unplaited it while he sits in the bone-meltingly hot water. The next communal tub over is icy cold, but most everyone migrating between the two is using the closer sides of the baths.

[It wasn't entirely surprising to find the tiefling in the bath. Ever since he'd somehow managed to charm his way into access to the bathhouse meant for the upper echelons he'd certainly not been shy about putting that privilege to work. No one could agree on why he was allowed- each had a different tale, all outlandishly wild and straight from his own lips, but he was so entertaining about it, and didn't seem to cause any harm, so no one had seen fit to protest this.

Today he'd found a spot near where the pillars ringing the deep, wide bath opened to the outside air, letting in a breeze and the scent of the roses that the area was so known for, arms crossed along the edge of the tub, chin propped against them with red eyes barely-open slits in the warm sunlight, tail swishing in utterly feline contentment through the steaming water. There was a small tray of fruits, a goblet of wine at his elbow, but aside from a few missing grapes, Molly seemed more interested in the moment in just basking in both the sunlight and the bath. Not that he'd be at all adverse to company and conversation.]
