A clear and brisk autumn night in Brandon Hill Park.

There the Doctor sits, quietly for once, on a wood bench. The TARDIS is twenty feet behind them, ready to whisk them away to their next destination. Most of his bombastic energy had dissipated with the evening sky, spending it alongside Amy. A full day of adventures now coming to a close. He always found this part to be silly. The mere thought of settling for the night meant having to wait, and waiting isn’t one of the Doctor’s strongest qualities.

But this is also what the Doctor appreciates most about humans: their ability to slow down and take an inventory of their day. Then start the process all over again from dawn to dusk.

So he sits there, hands settled on top of his knees. There is a smidge of dirt underneath his eye, something he neglected to tidy up after their encounter with the alien invasion they thwarted only several hours ago. The tension in his shoulders releases as his head tilts up to look at the busy sky. He can already map out all the locations he wants to visit.]
