The Lap Pillow Meme

From TV Tropes: A good way to show the physical intimacy and trust which a couple have is to rest one's head on the other's lap. Usually, the man does the resting while the woman provides the lap, not only because of anatomical reasons but because the lap-owner is typically of a nurturing nature more associated with femininity. Bonus points if she's feeding him grapes or stroking his hair. In some cases this is done between people who are not necessarily lovers, to comfort someone who is weeping or injured.

Or, in the case of the meme: screw the rules, we'll do anything. Maybe they're tired and just found a good place to rest? Maybe both parties were asleep? Hard to tell. All we know is, someone's head is going to be on another person's lap. Shenanigans will ensue.

Bucky had suggested brining over the Lord of the Rings films and that they could watch them with the boys, AJ and Cass were excited once they heard that it was apparently filled with epic fight scenes and lots of blood. How could she say no?

They worked out a time and since the movies were so long it was decided to break them up over a few days. The suggestion of snacks was one things everyone seemed to agree on so while the boys helped Bucky set up the dvd player Sarah popped the corn and opened bags of candy to put into bowls. Mostly she wanted to control how much the boys had so she only put out some rather than letting them have all of it at once. She was not about to let them have a sugar rush and go crazy and have to deal with that all night.

"We're ready, mom!" AJ hollered from the living room, and she winced.

"You could have just walked in here and told me." She muttered, but since when did kids ever do that? "AJ, Cass come carry some of this stuff. Bucky, you're on drink duty."

She gave everyone a job, including Bucky who was responsible for grabbing the drinks. Water, iced tea or lemonade for the boys, and a beer for her and whatever he wanted. She let the boys chose but soda was out, again she was a mom and that meant rules sometimes. Probably why they thought Bucky was cooler than she was.

There were a number of bowls with assorted candies, she knew Bucky said he hadn't tried a lot so she was going to use this as a chance to let him. She handed each of the boys a few bowls and grabbed some herself and the large popcorn bowl and headed into the Livingroom for the movie extravaganza.
