They're going to be a pal and show you around in your new body. Difficulties: Okay, there's going to have to be some thought about the logistics here. It's not going to be an easy wham-bam-thank-you-m'am. Modification: Maybe you can't do the classic penetration, but there are other ways to get off. Power Up: There are interesting ways you can put abilities to use. Hurt: You didn't mean to, but you hurt them physically. Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder: They're actually the most gorgeous specimen back home. You're the ugly one! Well, not exactly to them, but you do look a little funny. Captured by human pirates, and carried far from her home waters aboard a ship that subsequently went down in a storm, Syrena had found herself tangled in the rigging and washed ashore. The mermaid had struggled in a shallow tidepool until she was exhausted, but the waterlogged ropes held her fast. Half in, and half out of water, she was unable to shift forms. All she could do was hope for the tide to come in before her gills dried out, and even then she was afraid the flotsam might drag her down.

Luckily, fate had seen fit to send a rescuer to her that day. At first, she'd thought she was delirious from dehydration, for she had never seen a merman among her own kind, but once she realized he was real, she couldn't take her eyes off of the curiously attractive creature who'd come to her aid.

Rikuo was searching for more of his kind after his homeland was devastated by an unearthly evil force. He would scour all the seas and rivers of the world if he had to. But it was sheer luck that the day he climbed the rocks to search the tidepools was also the day that Syrena was trapped within one. If he had searched a day earlier or she washed up a day later, they would have missed one another.

As it was, he stood atop the raised rocks that separated her from the sea, framed by the sun. Looking down at the unusual sight, a combination of human and fish unlike one he'd ever seen. Perhaps she was a product of his kind mating with a human? Such questions could wait if they mattered at all. Rikuo prided himself on being a noble warrior of the sea. When a damsel was in distress, he was sure to appear.

With an agile leap from the rocks, he landed in a squat pose much like a frog, his blue eyes wide and fascinated. Strangely, his immediate attraction was reversed to how a human might see her. The fine shimmering scales of her tail were gorgeous and familiar. Her human features were exotic and intriguing.

"I'm here to help," he said with a comforting, gentle tone. He didn't want to simply start slashing at her bindings with his huge claws without first alleviating her fear. "I am Rikuo."

Startled by his sudden approach, Syrena recoiled, but there was nowhere for to go. The hiss of fright quickly faded into a sigh of relief when he voiced his intentions, and she did her best to relax and let him work. She couldn't help but turn her head to watch him, though, equally intrigued by his almost but not quite familiar features.

"Thank you," she whispered hoarsely, licking her parched lips. "I was afraid no one would come."

Normally, visits from foreign diplomats are standard affairs for Princess Tovir. Not boring, but not exciting either. They're just par for the royal course. But this visit is different. Something about Emperor Rikuo draws her - makes her smile and regal graciousness that much more sincere. She even found herself keeping his company when possible, and accidentally staring at him with flushed cheeks when not.

Tonight is one of the nights when they've found each other. Dinner is over, and while the big, welcoming gala happened the night Rikuo arrived, there's still mingling and finger food desserts to be had. Tovir just so happened to choose an evening dress with a low, sweetheart neckline. Purely coincidence.

She smiles and curtsies to Rikuo. "I hope you have found the evening to your liking, Emperor."

Rikuo felt immediate sympathy towards Syrena. Feelings he’d had, imagining the many potential fates of his subjects, swelled in his chest. Could they, too, be drying out, helpless, afraid no one would save them?

“It is my duty as a lord of the sea,” he stated confidently, his most heroic voice. The one he used when there was danger afoot to let everyone know he would handle it. Guaranteed.

His claws made short work of the rigging, but she was still trapped in the tide pool. Despite his evident strength and the fearsome talons on his oversized feet, he wouldn’t have burst a bubble with the gentility of his grip as he lifted her in a bridal carry.

Rikuo was not the standard diplomat. He was direct and honest, as much as he was noble and friendly. He hadn’t been raised for the role, the Merfolk giving the title of emperor to a chosen candidate rather than following bloodlines. So he stood out amongst a crowd, even without taking into account how rare it was for his species to be seen above water.

“Oh, this is a party. Supposedly,” he jokes, his bright blue eyes alight with delight at Tovir’s approach. He has mentioned before he prefers events to be wilder, more fun than flash. “Rikuo will do.”

When not directly performing his duties, which he takes very seriously indeed, Rikuo isn’t likely to stand on formalities. Hence why he follows that up with- “And my evening has improved since you’ve come by. I was just thinking I needed a beautiful woman to dance with.”

Had Syrena known of his concern, she would have felt the same. She wouldn't wish such a dreadful fate upon anyone, and though she was grateful for her freedom, she shuddered to think what had become of the human sailors on the ship whose rigging had bound her--though her thoughts did not linger long before returning to the valiant hero before her. How fortunate he had happened by when he did!

"Lord of the sea," she marveled, studying him with curiosity as he lifted her from the pool. His powerful build allowed him to carry her as easily as gliding through the water, his talons giving his sure footing even on the damp rocks. They were alike, in many ways, and yet so different in others, and she couldn't help but feeling drawn to him for reasons she could not yet fully grasp. "I am called Syrena."

Tovir smiles, her cheeks flushing a bit. "Thank you, Rikuo. I'm most flattered. Please, call me Tovir in turn. And I would be honoured to dance in your arms."

Oops - she meant to say "dance with you". Though she catches her mistake, she doesn't correct herself, either. They make their way to the small dancefloor and are soon moving to the music. Tovir dances with practiced grace, though here with Rikuo, she dances with joy in her steps as well. She never shies away from touching Rikuo. One might even say she's a little too close, but she either doesn't notice or doesn't care.

"I'm glad that you deigned to visit us. Learning about you and your people has been fascinating, truly."

[Glit is a former Decepticon medic; he's a cassetticon, so he's only about 7 feet tall when he stands bipedally and he's the size of a large jaguar. He's a white cat robot with some red and blue markings, blue leg struts, and golden eyes. He has a thing for humans. He is really not important enough to be sought out for an arranged marriage, but he did use to travel with the pop star Rosanna as one of her backup singers in her band, the Kiss Players. Would prefer no painful scenarios, open to just about everything else. He cannot, absolutely cannot, get anyone organic pregnant. That just is not how it works, LOL.]
