Let's adopt. A pet, I mean.

the "LET'S GET A PET" meme
This person makes you feel thinks like never before. The sunshine's in your life, your skin is cleared, your crops are watered. Most importantly, though, your cards have been laid out on the table. You know what they mean to you. They know. In every sense, they're the one. So what does this mean? It might just be that you're ready to take this next step in your relationship. This little family of two â it's about to gain another member...
...because you're totally getting a pet.
How to Play
- IMAGINE YOUR OTP ADOPTING A PET: THE MEME
- Comment with your character and additional information. You might wanna include what kind of animal your character would gravitate to, whether they'd cook up the idea themselves/bring the pet home, no questions asked/pick up strays/be the reluctant pet parent/etc.
- Thread out those puppies.
- Literally?

No, Thor, we are not getting a bilgesnipe!]no subject
How's this?
Of course, one child having a pet will lead to all of them having pets; he knows he's opening Pandora's box there. But a fish is a good way to begin, and lower maintenance than some animals. And so today he is in the tavern with the child, with a few books open as he researches what kind of setup they'll need.
"What's your opinion?" he asks skekSa with a smile as she peers over their shoulders. "What kind of fish is best for a little Asgardian's first pet?"
[Nexus based but we can decide later if it's Nexus canon. She can talk Loki into a bird, too if you want!]

So she's willing to do a favor for Loki's family. Anything for the young captain, who she promised to help train when he came of age. Not everyone has the opportunity to learn from the Lord Mariner herself, who'd sailed Thra's seas for trine upon trine and gone where no other skeksis dared.
"For the wee lad, I assume?" The pirate's eyes brighten. "I imagine you'll need something that won't grow too large for the tank. Would you prefer a creature native to the Earth or to Thra? I can do either one."

It's canon.Hey, just... chill with Tyelko and his huge Dog and 50 other forest animals. ]/shyly peeks in
đ
yes that absolutely works đ€]or feel free to adjust this to whenever!
TYELKO!!! [ Sometimes, Makalaure lives up to his father name rather literally ]
WHAT IS THIS... THING SLOBBERING ON MY PAPERS????
Huan's cue âšđâš
Tyelko knows who's "slobber", but mouths that it must be exaggeration. ]
The Hound? [ The feign of innocent surprise that he was going for is overtaken by pride and delight before the answer even leaves his lips. He's gone on numerous hunts, in Oromë's company and with many of his dogs yet, but-- ] He's mine! [ That much is, of course, obvious. However, Huan is a gift, and, Tyelko is already sure, the greatest ever. ]
This day, Oromë gifted him to me.
[ Making Tyelkormo his master; it's no good reason to keep him leashed
out of his brother's study, though. ]no subject
Obviously the Hound! [ Maglor hisses, irate, and drops his face into his hands ]
A gift. [ He says flatly ] From Lord Orome.
[ Lord Orome is now officially his Least Favourite Vala, because WHY ]
Can't you give it back?
no subject
Makalaurë, do you not know what a gift is? [ It means you can't give it back :) ] Returning him would see all our hearts sink to sorrow.
[ Tyelko brings slain animals, and his brother isn't happy. Now he arrives with one devoted and servile, and his mood can not be helped either. What a shame. ]
He hath been named. I won't think of giving him back.
no subject
I know that your... "gift" just ate half my latest symphony! You could at least have left him outside!
[ You are absolutely doing this on purpose little brother don't think he can't tell ]
And what did you name him then. [ And can he tease you about it ]
no subject
Do you not ever pride yourself upon your flavourful compositions?
[ Being his master now, Tyelko's instruction is behind it. A hunt is best led by ambush. ]
Huan. [ For the Eldest Speech does not sound as fair as Quenya. ] That is the name I chose. [ It's very direct. What can one say, even the talented have their more effortless moments... ]
no subject
That is absolutely not what is meant and you know it! Now I will have to rewrite it all before the festival in a week!
[ ... wait really? ]
You named the hound... hound.
[ He stares at his brother ]
Surely... you could have been a bit more... [ creative ] lyrical?
no subject
Why such a face? Lyrical? Much more true to his name, now suddenly, Tyelko is about to rile himself up by the mere look of his brother's expression. His choice of words, the question and the pause, give note to it that is judgemental enough for him to justify his temper. ]
Unlike you, Makalaurë, my care is not for sitting upon the glades, playing my harp!
no subject
No, clearly not! [ Maglor snaps back - his temper is slower to rouse, always has been, not Teylkormo's flashfire but their mother's glacial freeze - but that doesn't mean he doesn't have one. And he'd worked hard on that symphony ]
Some of us, however, have real work to do! And you've set me back a week!

[ The pheasants in the cage trap seem to have calmed under a linen cover. Tyelko pulls it back just enough to reveal one's speckled tail feather's, and the other's colourful head. There is no doubt, they must be just a small proof of a successful hunt. He ought to wonder, each and every time, if Curufinwë had even left his work bench in the time he had gone riding with the Ambarussa, with Huan, followed Oromë. ]
Wrest yourself from your crafts, and I'll show you what else.
no subject
[ He lays down his metal-working project and his tools and comes to see what Celegorm has brought. His brother would be right to wonder if Curufin has left his work bench in all the time Celegorm has spent in the chase -- he hasn't. Curufin looks and sees one bird's tail feathers and the other's head. ] Oho! Your hunt was successful.
[ He takes off his leather apron and hangs it up on a peg ] All right, I'm wrested! Show me the rest. Do we need to go elsewhere?
no subject
The pheasants will serve for a meal, new fletching, and what else. Were it not Curvo saying so, Tyelko might take offense to as much surpriseâor, what he thinksâthere is not a time he'd come home empty handed, and he not only trapped two birds, of course. Still, even to him it's asinine to ride a horse into the forge. He tells him, yes, outside.
This one he didn't not chase, but bought it. ] A new horse.
[ A brown coat so dark that it is nearly black, safe around the muzzle. It looks tall, strong certainly. Spurring TurukĂĄno into taking a race across Tirion should be simple enough, and if not he may still count on ĂrissĂ«. ] What do you say?
no subject
He's not actually surprised that his bother has captured the birds -- his brother is a superb hunter and trapper. Curvo only meant to express enthusiasm and admiration. And he wouldn't expect Tyelko to ride a horse into the forge! That would be taking things a little too far. He opens the door of the forge and exits with his brother. ]
A new horse? [ He goes to the horse and smiles at it, and at his brother. He strokes the horse's muzzle and mutters a greeting. ]. Beautiful horse! Was this a gift from Oromë? Or did you purchase or trade for it?
no subject
Perhaps to gauge just that, he has a demand of his little brother. ]
Take a ride with me, Curvo. No doubt you had denied yourself any rest in all the time I was gone. [ He knows, whether it be called intuition or proof of how well Tyelkormo knows his favored sibling. ] Take my other horse and we'll go.
[ And if they don't get any of their cousins to race, they can do it between them. ]
no subject
The demand is timely, since Curufin needs a break from the forge. ]
Of course, Tyelko! [ He grins. Of course he denied himself rest during the time Celegorm was gone. Tyelko knows him well. Curvo will knock himself out working on any new project that he's excited about. ]. Thanks, I'll borrow your other horse. Let's go and get him!
[ Curufin's up for a race if Celegorm is! Whoohoo! ]
