[ as a guest for the ryuugasakis at their snow cabin, hikaru had been trying to be on his best behavior as much as he could, but it really was taking all his willpower to not make fun of jin when he started spraying himself free from bugs. he decided he had to take a break or else he would explode from laughter, going back to the cabin to pick up his snowboard even though the weather had started to get worse.

unfortunately once back there, the power went out, startling him. the snow storm outside was too wild to face directly, and had he been alone or with kaoru, hikaru would be okay with it. as it is right now, the only other person here was the super annoying and condescending butler of the guy. literally the worst situation ever. hikaru takes a seat near the hearth - the only source of the light at the moment, and takes a good look at chizuru. ]

no but really, just because he uses a Cryo Vision, that surely can't make Kaeya impervious to harsh, inclement weather. also, Dragonspine suuucks.

castmates, cross-canon, and OCs welcome; gen or will-they-won't-they teasing precedings toward something ship both welcome. (fine with age gap in either direction.) love hurt/comfort and injury-response tropes, anxiety/insomnia/trauma responses, body heat sharing, without power, out in the wilderness, or stuck in an unknown place. add monsters for a survival fight, give me fluff, or make it sad.

[ Lisa, who once turned down becoming the Eighth Company's Captain within the Knights of Favonius, still tries to gently dissuade anyone who would invite her onto a too important mission. There's plenty of reasons for that - it's difficult to brew tea at the exact right temperature, and then keep it warm, while traveling, for one. She enjoys the current library's more interesting options so much she'd rather not part with them (nor should she bring too many of those books with her on long trips, either), for another.

And - when all these humans call upon the Gods' powers through their Visions, what is the real cost to their bodies and minds? What payment will eventually be extracted from them for their deeds here in Teyvat?

But all of that is waved aside, darker philosophies following like the faintest scent of perfume only at the edges of their outing, when Kaeya reveals he absolutely requires someone with Electro energy for this trip.

'Fischl is a strong girl, but she's still only a girl,' Lisa had told him. 'And Razor is just a boy.' And then, smiling as she knew she was trapped into this but was going to make the most of it, she'd yawned and finished by standing up from her desk. She patted Kaeya on the shoulder lightly as she drifted past him, already planning what to bring with her. 'Sounds like you need a woman's touch right now~.'

And, truth be told, he had. Dragonspine is a formidable opponent, even with the dragon long felled - and for a man who is as crafty and creative but elementally at odds with defending against the cold, Kaeya really had needed the assistance.

It simply turned out that even two skilled combatants, attempting to reach a lower summit and its Electro-activated totem, can be bested by the storms themselves.

They've taken shelter in a cave for now - with the blankets that they had brought, alongside those of no less than three Hilichurl camps they'd rampaged through on the way there. Kaeya had frozen a few layers of blankets up in place against the entrance to block the wind, but the temperature itself was...tolerably terrible.

At least until the adrenaline and energy of the climb and then the grasping for supplies had worn off. Now, an hour into taking shelter for the worst of the storm, with all their belongings unpacked and nothing left to do except sit near the fire and stunningly-meager amount of firewood they'd grabbed before it seemed safest to simply not be outdoors anymore, their body temperatures have cooled back down.

Lisa, dressed more warmly than usual and layered under two blankets, is shivering lightly. But then she catches a glimpse of Kaeya over her book - of course she brought one, wouldn't you? and she was right, there's downtime even in the most dire of locations - and he...

Actually looks worse off than she does. She presses her bookmark back between the pages of what she's reading, but doesn't close it just yet. ]

Captain Kaeya, [ she says, and she has the energy to curl her hair around her forefinger still, uses the excuse to make sure she's still got feeling under her gloves. ] I'm colder simply looking at you. Won't you come back over here, darling? I'm sure we can figure out some way of staying warm.

[ There's playful innuendo in her words, yes, but that's as normal for her as it is for the Captain - and truly, they should probably have just shared blankets earlier. Silly, that they didn't bother. ]
