Snuggles

snuggle with someonespecial
What better time than these cool, crisp mornings or rapidly lengthening nights to jump right under a warm blanket with that irreplaceable person in your life? Even if you're not sleeping together - heck, even if you've not been straight with your feelings and you're not officially an "item" - there's nothing wrong with cuddling up. Grab a book, get some hot cocoa, turn on the TV (if you're in an era where the tube's available), or just enjoy each other's presence on the couch or in the bed.
- Comment with your character, preference, etc.
- This is a gen or shipping meme, not a smut meme, but if you want interactions to turn to something more, I can't stop you.

let me know if any of this doesn't work for you!
He's pretty sure the chemicals fucking with his head will wear off eventually, probably twenty-four hours at the most, and he's honestly fully prepared to wait this out with a weighted blanket and a 24+ hour Depression Nap, except that he outsourced analyzing Scarecrow's toxin to Oracle. She informs him in no uncertain terms that he is not sitting this thing out alone, she will see who's available to spend some time with him because this shit could go seriously bad if left alone.
When Jason arrives, he's burrowed into the couch - like, actually burrowed, it's possible that he's kind of wedged himself in between the cushions and the back - in addition to the weighted blanket wrapped around himself and hey, maybe Oracle had a point about not being able to just ride this one out alone.
it's great!
This is a pretty big thing to ask of Jason, though. He's the last person for the job, he insists. He might be the most freakish of them all with his touch-starved repression, and don't even get him started on trying to admit he has feelings and emotions, even though that's all that ever drives him.
The thing is, it's not just details of what Oracle is asking him to do that bother him- it's the person, too. He and Tim... they have a complicated relationship, to say the least. The main problem is that if there were anyone he had to cuddle up with, it would probably be Tim, which only makes Jason want to run from it even more.
But it's life or death, Oracle says, and he does owe her, so he heads to Tim's very reluctantly, letting himself in with the pass code Oracle supplied him with. He doesn't really know what to expect, but it's definitely not Tim looking smaller than ever as he's got himself so curled into the couch that it's hard to see where the couch ends and where Tim begins.
"Honey, I'm home," he deadpans, tossing his jacket aside and kicking his boots off next to the couch. he has a feeling he might be here a while, whether he likes it or not. He wonders if Oracle had informed Tim that it would be him babysitting tonight.

It's fine. What it probably means is that Jason is here to monitor Tim's condition, maybe prevent Tim from doing anything inadvisable, possibly provide just enough contact to stabilize him if it goes too far. Tim will just manage with his weighted blanket and his couch after all. "Jason," he says after a long moment, which is probably for the best because by the time he speaks, he's worked out most of the question that would be in his voice otherwise.

Awkward.
Even now he's not really sure what to do, because they're not usually in positions like this, and seeing Tim curled up here, looking so damn vulnerable- it's highly uncomfortable- which is strange, because it's not as if he hasn't tried to kill Tim on more than one occasion. Water under the bridge, hopefully.
"So I'm guessing you know Babs sent me. She said you have a... problem." He shifts a bit, one foot to the other, then slowly comes over and just kinda stands there again. "You sure someone doesn't have an antidote for this?" And by someone he means Bruce, though he'd rather not talk about him if he doesn't have to.

"Oracle would've told us if there was." He lets his eyes shut so he doesn't have to see Jason right there and fight the urge to reach out to him. "It's not that bad."
no subject
Logically he knows that they would have given Tim an antidote if they had one, but it's worth checking twice, isn't it? Jason definitely thinks so.
"You know, this is what happens when you don't take care of the problem. It just keeps coming back, over and over again. Not everyone who gets hit with that toxin has someone to help them out. A lot of people are alone." He can't help mentioning, only because he feels like these bats and birdbrains cause their own problems. They do this to themselves.
If Scarecrow were to be eliminated, no one would have to suffer from his fear toxin again. If he were eliminated, there would be less chance of a copycat as well. But of course that's one step too far.

But mostly, he's tired. "You don't have to be here," he points out. It's not a suggestion, he doesn't necessarily want Jason to go, but he feels like someone has to point this out because frankly, he needs Jason to get his shit together and figure out if he's even willing to be here right now.

But he's here, isn't he? He made it this far, which is already a lot for him, considering the situation. He isn't leaving either, no matter how weird this may be. His shit is perfectly together, and hey, it's not as if Tim looks any more relieved or appreciative now that he's here. Jason can't imagine Tim actually wants him here.
He wants to tell Tim that he's missing the point when he says he doesn't have to be here, but he supposes when a person is on the fear toxin, the point isn't ever going to be there anyway. "You're right. I don't have to be here, but I am. So... what do you need me to do?"
no subject
And yet.
He can't bring himself to say it, but he untangles one arm from his cocoon to reach out to Jason in a silent request for... anything, even just hand-holding.

He doesn't even regret asking Tim what he needs, even when the other man reaches his hand out to him. He doesn't, because ultimately this is what he came here to do, and he's going to do it, even if he needs a little time to warm up to it. Okay, so yeah, maybe Tim was right. He needs to get his shit together.
Which he does, because when Tim does reach out to him, Jason eyes his hand for a moment, but then he goes over to the couch, crouching down next to it. It takes another moment for him to get more of his shit together, but then he slides his hand into Tim's, and reminds himself that this can't be easy for him either. It's not like he wants to be curled up on the couch, left with the worst possible candidate for this.
Jason knows that if it were him he'd probably try to deal with it all on his own, and that might be stupid, but he's so damn stubborn. At least Tim is smarter than that.
"How long ago did this happen?" Just so he can gauge the effects and all that.

God, he's so pathetic right now. And so lost processing the sensation that he almost doesn't realize Jason's asked him a question. "Uh, a couple hours, I guess." He sort of lost track of time for a bit there.
no subject
"Couple hours. Alright." So this might go on a little longer. A lot longer depending on how much Tim got hit with, and Oracle made sure to tell Jason that it was a lot. That's why he's here.
"How are you feeling?" He looks down at their hands, and just how much bigger his is, wrapping around Tim's so completely. Tim is so warm to the touch- almost feverish, and he can't help but put his other hand against Tim's forehead, just to check... and to maybe give him more contact. Baby steps and all.

He swallows. "Been better."
no subject
He doesn't miss how Tim freezes up for a moment there as well, but that's to be expected. It's not like Jason does this every day, especially not with Tim. "You don't look particularly comfortable though."

"Look, if you need anything else just tell me. Otherwise I'll just..." he shifts uncomfortably, finally sitting down on the floor in front of Tim. Is he supposed to get Tim to try and move to his bed? He doesn't know.
