What better time than these cool, crisp mornings or rapidly lengthening nights to jump right under a warm blanket with that irreplaceable person in your life? ( she doesn't want to move. really, she doesn't. only that she has to. why? because it's not often she manages to catch Gwen looking as peaceful as she does now. as if the world, or some of its burdens, isn't resting on her shoulders. she's curled up around MJ, under their blanket, sound asleep. the warm glow from the TV highlighting the soft features of her face. it's an image MJ knows she has to capture.

not with a snap of her phone. but with strokes of graphite.

so, with an abundance of caution, as to not stir Gwen, MJ untangles herself from her girlfriend to slip out of the bed and pad, quietly on bare feet, across the floor. she's out of the bed just long enough to retrieve her sketchbook and a set of pencils. not wanting to have the moment slip through her fingers. it's with the same care that she slips back into their bed ― only this time at the foot of the bed, sitting cross-legged and leaving Gwen where she is ― immediately starting on the paper in her lap. )

[ The problem with dating someone with super-senses is Gwen is very aware MJ got out of bed for several reasons. She heard it, first of all. The shifting of fabric, the shuffling of papers. She felt the movement of her girlfriend and the change in weight when MJ sat back down again. And through it all, because Gwen really is trying to be a good girlfriend, she did her best to hold still. She didn't want to ruin what MJ was trying to accomplish.

But there might just be the faintest of smiles on her face that Gwen is struggling to keep in check. If MJ was happy, so was Gwen, so not smiling just a bit was difficult. ]
