[Diluc hadn't been a big believer in soulmates most of his life. The idea that some otherworldly being controlled who he would end up in a relationship with. His parents had been soulmates, but he didn't remember much of their relationship anyway, so he just ignored the possibility.

Besides, he had other things to do. He had a winery to run and a bar to tend. He didn't have time to deal with this soulmates stuff.

Until one day he woke up to writing on his body. Master and boss and other words were written on his torso, and it bothered him. But, nothing he couldn't cover with clothing.

There was also that red string that showed up when he was in certain parts of the city... A sign of a soulmate, that he continued to ignore.]

[Admittedly, they might get along about as well as oil on water in some ways, but I do admit that if nothing else, I just like the idea of Sebastian getting some quality cat time,

[Sharing knowledge, Raine has quite a bit of it, themself, and has a veritable hoard of books that they curate and upkeep - and tended to read from cover to cover. If you want to include distinct memories, well, Raine's not had the best time of their life lately after their lover died and then they took a nap that lasted a bit too long, and haven't... dealt with it. (I can, of course, push things along so they're more adjusted to their solitude. Whatever you'd prefer!) And most of their recent memories are just going out in cat form and acting cute to get free food during the day. And being pet.

[Alternatively, I do have a human(?) I'm voicetesting that, because I'm still feeling my way around and Sylvan canon has very little information at present, there's maybe a little more wiggle room because it'll be headcanon central for now? Although I'm still not quite sure how to work around the "almost always silent" aspect of his characterization due to his voice. He also has a spider-cat familiar that tends to speak for him in its own way.
