[Of course Kurama was amused. Hiei. A father. Really. It was enough to make the demon laugh... Which was precisely what he was trying not to do when he came up to the tree he knew the fire demon was sleeping in. He leaned against the trunk, a little smirk playing at his lips.]

[the reality of it all was still so surreal to him. he knew it was probably the same for Re-l, but he wasn't sure. the news was certainly a shock, and after a few... colorful moments (mainly between Re-l and the doctors, though she did manage to shoot a few effective glares in Vincent's direction), they anxiously sat, listening to the doctor about what to expect over the next nine months. it was a lot of information to take in, which ultimately left Vincent a nervous wreck. he wasn't even sure if he was ready to take this step into parenthood... something he figured Re-l was thinking at the time too. regardless... he was happy. wouldn't you be happy as well, learning that you were going to have a baby with the one you loved?

of course, that was four months ago. thankfully the morning sickness was becoming less frequent, but now, as they sat in their bedroom in their small house in their still recovering world, he couldn't help but stare in awe at Re-l's growing belly...
