The LEAP THROUGH TIME Shipping Meme

You're in love. If you came to that conclusion easily or kicking and screaming, it all leads to the same point. You're head over heels, so shouldn't the rest of what you need to do be obvious? They return your feelings, check. The relationship could be wonderful, check. Why not take that final leap and commit?

There's one problem. A big one, actually, one that could throw everything into a tailspin. You're not from the same time as them, maybe not even the same world or timeline. Meeting the person you've come to care so much about has all been a fluke, as you were thrown into their lives by some kind of temporal accident and you've always intended to go back home. You still intend to find a way back.

Don't you?

You can't get comfortable here. You don't belong in this time. Whether your present is their far future or you're from the past, it isn't right. And who knows what damage you could cause?

Still, you're in love, and the consequences of your actions aren't exactly at your highest priority, or they're quickly falling from that peak. The ramifications may get even hazier if, say, you know the fate of the person you've developed feelings for, whether through personal experience or public knowledge. It would be extremely tempting to try and save them, wouldn't it? But you can't. You shouldn't.

You don't belong here. You have to find your way back.

Maybe your character has just found themselves in a new time, or they're having loving ~emotions~ towards this person they've met, there's a culture clash, there's seriousness about how they need to get home, there's fun, or anything else. Possibly, you could even play the tearful moment when they're leaving - or the joyful when they've decided to leave their time and come back to be with their lover!

(Oh no. Not again.)

[ He sighs wearily , probably the millionth time since they’d arrived , exhaustion clear on his features. He had been scooped up right after practice and scarcely given any time to recover. He had been looking forward to finally being able to quit volleyball in his third year , but his best friend and former team captain had insisted he stick it out. 𝖶𝗁𝖺𝗍'𝗌 𝗈𝗇𝖾 𝗆𝗈𝗋𝖾 𝗒𝖾𝖺𝗋? Well , right now it felt a lot like hell. His feet were already aching from a grueling work out , soreness only aided from the hiking they’d been doing around shrine. ]

❝ Oi, 𝘒𝘦𝘯𝘮𝘢! ❞

[ His raven-haired companion calls out to him , motioning entirely too excitedly to a smaller wooden temple , set apart from the main shrine. He rolls his eyes , but dutifully follows him inside. Passing through the door’s threshold , there’s an odd sort of energy in the air that's almost tangible. It creeps along his skin , causing goose bumps to rise. Somehow , he knows they’re 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. The other male is seemingly unaffected and completely oblivious to what Kenma is feeling. Instincts are screaming at him to turn around , but he finds himself descending the stairs anyway , stopping before what appears to be an uncovered well.

He peers down , squinting into the darkness , body unconsciously leaning forward. Something’s twinkling down there in the impenetrable blackness , like a lone star. It takes him a moment to register , but suddenly his body is pitching forward and he’s falling , head first into the nothingness. He’s screaming , the sound harsh and shrill even to his own ears. Golden eyes clamp closed , a vain attempt to block out the overwhelming sensation of being swallowed whole.

His body hits the ground with a hard thud. It knocks the wind from his chest , but aside from that a quick checking of all his limbs reveals no significant injuries. He’s unsteady on his feet , the majority of his body trembling from the adrenaline , but he manages to stand. His gaze wanders to the opening above him , hands moving to dust himself off , but he pauses in the action. He can see a serene azure sky ; an occasional fluffy looking cloud floating serenely across the limited view. The well had previously been covered. ]

❝ Kuroo! This isn’t funny. I could’ve died. Help me out of here so 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶! ❞

[ There’s a quiver in his voice , small bit of fear gripping his heart when there’s no reply. Maybe he had run off to get something to haul him out. The dread he feels doesn’t go away , only amplifying the longer he waits. He’s not sure how long he waits , bottom becoming numb and limbs feeling stiff from being stationary for so long. Unable to wait for even a moment longer , he gnaws his bottom lip in a steadfast decision of determination. There are thick vines running down from the top of the well and he tugs on one of them experimentally. Seemingly sturdy enough , he attempts the strenuous climb to the top. ]
