Wings For Everyone!

No, really, it's like Oprah on a bender, everyone gets a pair! They can be feathery, leathery, tattered, pristine, made out of glitter, feathers, tissue paper or star-stuff.

The only limit is your imagination (and reference pics, if that's your thing)

Maybe your character has always had their wings, maybe they just woke up with them for the first time this morning like an odd take on Gregor Samsa, it's entirely up to you.

[All sorts of wings and premises welcome.]

[Have you no wings? They say, if you climb the mountain, someone--something--up there will grant you...one.

Better a partial deformity than a total lack, right?]

[They have BLUEJAY WINGS!]

[Oh dear, these wings are made of water. How does that even work?]

[His wings are pure shadow, so dark that it is hard to tell what they might truly look like. Feathered and angelic? Leathery and demonic? There are whispers of both, of people who have claimed to have been close enough to see them.

But he is the Darkling, and they are shadow. Perhaps the answer is simply they are whatever he wants them to be.]

[Asaanelain canonically has wings, like all Demon Hunters do, but his are tattered and from all the battles he's been in.]

[A pair of owl wings for Erik. Do all mutants have them or is he just special? Either way, he's very sensitive about them given Shaw used to experiment on them, leaving him pinioned for some time afterwards.]

[I'd love to play around with the idea that only those Force sensitive possess wings and how that affects them but anything goes really! Maul either has a pair of demonic-looking bat wings that reflect his coloration already or lost his wings during his first fight with Obi-Wan and replaced them with a pair of black robotic ones, something he's still bitter about to this day.]

[He's got a pair of very large black swan wings but he's unable to fly with them, something that just stokes his anger all the more. Still, they're useful for when he wants to beat the shit out of people.]

[He's got a pair of red-tailed hawk wings and is very proud of them. They do tend to get a little ratty-looking from time to time if he's feeling depressed and not up to preening them, but for the most part, he tries to keep them looking good.]

[Does he even have wings? Mandalorian customs on showing one's wings are just as strict as showing one's face, so no one is really sure if Mando has them or not. In truth, he does, quail wings, but they're very small and absolutely of no use if he wants to fly, with their only advantage being that they're very easy to hide under his clothes and armor. Really, they're pretty useless and he doesn't see any need for them.]

[He's got the wings of a mourning dove. While he's never used them for much flying, he's wrapped them around a patient once or twice for comfort.]

[Wings are a definitive part of Lucifer's species so his aren't anything new or groundbreaking but, like anything that concerns Lucifer, they do come with additional baggage™ so probably best to tread lightly? (Especially if we're talking about these monstrosities. Those had been a shock.)]

[However! If you're new to your wings or if you have questions about them, he's probably not the worst person in the universe to ask for advice, especially if you like your advice served with a hefty slice of sarcasm. Or innuendo. Or both!]

[Chances are Phoenix has blue jay wings, or in more fantastical contexts, the wings of a literal phoenix.]

[Gaining wings after he becomes immortal, maybe? They're juvenile golden eagle wings. ~~or, if he happened to be given Arke's wings, they'd be rainbow.~~]

[Jack has medium golden feathered wings that shimmer when he spreads them out. They regrow every time he gets hurt or they do and he hides them under his coat to not freak anyone out.]

[Look who's at the bar boasting with his star-dust feathers. He also has on a straw hat, dark sunglasses and pink flower Hawaiian necklace on. He's enjoying himself and avoiding going to the Ood at any possible distraction.]

[He has one ragged looking black wing. He lost the other one when he lost his arm and keeps the good one folded against his body.]

[Sam has brown wings that he doesn't really take care of. They are overgrown, have broken feathers and are thinner than they should be.]

[Tony has gleaming metal wings to replace the ones that he lost during his captivity. They can expand into an Iron Man suit should he need them to.

[Michael, uniquely among demons, has huge snowy-white wings! He looks like a classical angel! He has definitely been bullied about this a lot in the past!]

Acacia rapped frantically at the door until it opened.

"Hi! Hey, hi," she said, out of breath. "Um, so I woke up this morning, and..."

She shrugged helplessly. This was made more dramatic than usual by the swan wings poking above her shoulder that spread as well, covering the entire front stoop. They were taller than her horns, and a brilliant white that set off her brown skin and bright green eyes.

"I think maybe Polymorph *wasn't* a spell I could do yet after all."

Moira rubbed a hand over her face, too-long fingers bending in odd places as she did so.

"Ouss is supposed to be the only one who can fly," she said tiredly. "Though I'm sure he'll be thrilled to have a flying buddy. He's still asleep, but you can come in anyway."

Moira backed away from the doorway, leaving room for Acacia to enter.

"Thanks," she said, before promptly stubbing a wing on the side of the doorway. "Ow, fuck!"

Acacia wrestled with the wing for a moment until it folded back across her back, then carefully shuffled through the door. "I'm not entirely sure Ouss is gonna get a flying partner," she said dryly. "It took me an hour to figure out how to walk properly. It's like having a really heavy backpack that's alive. Or giving my nibling a piggyback ride. But, uh, just having them isn't the biggest issue."

She attempted to sit in a chair before giving up and just standing. "Polymorph is only supposed to last an hour. It's been at least three."

Moira frowned, looking at Acacia's wings.

"To be honest, I have no idea. Magic really isn't in my wheelhouse. Ask Vel, maybe? Or Ouss, once he wakes up. I mean, I can help you practice moving with them? That is something I have experience with."

Her frown deepened.

"Not moving with wings. Never had those. But movement in general."
