RED STRING OF FATE MEME

It's a bit of Japanese folklore that true lovers are connected to each other via a red string that represents destiny. But what comes first, the love or the string?

What if they came at the same time?

This meme is one part love at first sight and one part soulmate meme. You'll find yourself connected to something by a red string tied around your pinkie that you just can't get off. Well, may as well see what- or who- is on the other end! When you do see who it is, no matter who it may be, you'll fill a sudden and intense rush of love for them - whatever love means to you. You'll want to kiss them, hold them, protect them, and be with them forever. Who cares if you've never met before or aren't even from the same world?

But every rose has its thorns.

Instead of a red string, you may have a blue string. Oh, you'll still adore whoever it is that you're connected to, but it will be all the bad things about love: obsession, codependence, jealousy. You'll never let this person out of your sight, and they'll love you back. No matter what.

Sure, the string doesn't seem to have a limit (it's pretty long, after all), but if the two of you are apart by more than a meter, the string will hurt you in some comical way.
Oh. And the only way to untie the knot? Is by doing any sort of intimate act.

For whatever reason, the Lan sect was visiting Yiling. Something that bothered Wei Wuxian far more than he'd truly imagined. Why were they visiting? Who was at the head of the visit? He was trying to sleep. Trying may not of been the right word. No, he was in his demon slaughtering cave. The same cave where he was lounging around making talismans.

Of course, blood was involved. The more blood the better the talismans worked. Something, unfortunately, kept tugging at him. That feeling wasn't going away either, which got a glare out of him. Whoever was trying to poke at him, spiritually or otherwise, was going to get smacked with a load of resentful energy if they weren't careful.

No one needed to be up in the Burial Mounds. Much less someone that would harm those that he cared about. Which is why he had decided to head down to the foot of it and move up into a tree. Even if there was pain lancing through him it felt like. He hadn't felt pain like that since giving up his golden core. At least there were talismans and other traps at the base. Someone would have to be really determined to set foot in Burial Mounds.

They'd also have to kill him before they got to the Wens.

[Of all the weird things that have happened in Recolle, strings of fate aren't new. Except, Dazai's pretty sure they're supposed to be red? Weird.
