Up until now, there's definitely been some tension between you two. Whether it's more romantic or flatly sexual is, understandably, dependent on the personalities involved, but the fact remains that you both have been dancing around the issue for whatever reason. Why do why say "up until now?" Well, it's simple. Somehow, either through accident or otherwise, you've end up in what can only be considered a compromising position: you're in the other's lap, you're on top of them, chest to chest, almost kissing, so on and so forth. This leads to the ultimate snap in your tension - you just can't hold it in any longer, even if you try to get out of this situation unscathed. The direction you move in, again, depends on the people involved, so things could take a turn for the awkward, the cute, the romantic, the desperate, or even the steamy. What's for certain is that whatever's between you may never be the same...unless you guys, in typical will they/won't they fashion, can repress and pretend nothing ever happened. [Strange round broaches appear in the USA through black market channels. They grant the wearer whether they have magic or not, element magic. People eagerly get their hands on them and one thing becomes clear, the magic stinks of corruption. It isn’t long after that bodies start turning up. An organization selling it finally gets a name, Fatui. And hot on their heels another group appears, opposing them and facing down those corrupted and held by the magic of the devices.

The Knights of the Ordo Favonius. Hailing from across the sea, the knights follow one code - keep all safe and free. They lack the prejudices of the Order. Their ability to operate their strange magic at all times and how they work with local law enforcement grants them the public’s respect. The strange devices get a name - Delusions. Counterfeits appear on the market and get snatched up by a strangely wealthy buyer no matter the price.

When the devices make their way to Atlanta, it’s unsurprising that one of the Favonius appears at the Order’s doorsteps with an offer of a joint case. The knight in question is one of their heavier hitters. Calvary Captain Kaeya Alberich. A man who spends most of his time in bars and with shady customers off duty but the results he gets bespeaks of a dangerous man. His file has a ton of flags on it with notes that his magic is ice and he uses it with skill. So, naturally, Nic hands the case to Aurelia.

He’s a decent guy to work with, fun and witty. He flirts without being pushy about it. But when it comes to being on the job he is sharp and misses nothing, even if he doesn’t always point it out. And he’s a liar just like her without a straightforward word to say.

Kaeya can admit to himself that he quite likes Aurelia. She’s a good partner. Besides she rides a horse like she was born in the saddle. There’s a lot of reasons to be charmed by her and draw in like she were a flame he wants to get warm by. They’d tracked a recent delusion user to Unicorn Lane. According to what he’d heard in the bars around town, Unicorn Lane is a place for the desperate, and magic always flows there. As he steps across an invisible boundary - into the building their quarry went into - he can feel it thrumming in his veins and calling to him with an icy voice.

He sucks in a breath and then he hears it. Chains rattle in the dark interior and something sounds like-]

Aurelia! [He yells and reaches out, pulling her up against his chest as he spins them, shoving her up against the wall. He presses into her, every line of their bodies touching as he slaps his hand to the wall and ice slams up as the elemental magic pours through his fingers. His breath fans against her lips as he listens to something hit his icy wall and snarl. Then silence. The sense of wrong that he’d felt is missing from the air. He curses and not thinking about it buries his face in her shoulder.] Damn it!
