your princess It's fairly simple, really, no royalty required. One of you is the "princess:" sweet, gentle, possibly energetic, always full of life and innocence. The other is the "knight:" stoic, or at least serious about protecting that one special person, dedicated, strong, a fighter. And the two of you are in love, even if one...less expressive than the other. Together romantically or not, there's something that connects you, most likely a driving need to protect. But don't let the normal conventions full you, the "princess" (or "prince," as it may be, because the terms here are gender neutral) is just as important. Someone has look to the emotional well-being and happiness of the "knight," and often, those "knights" need a lot of help. Comment with your character and preferences. Be sure to include which role you'd like to play. Reply to others.

Fjord had been here at the Castle for about three years now, the other Knights and Soldiers had stopped calling him rookie but they still liked to prank him now and then, giving him a hard time about only being half an Orc, unlike them who were full-blooded or Goliath, but overall, Fjord had settled in pretty well!

Normally his duty was assisting the King's guard, and when I say assisting I mean, watching the Queen or the Princess, seeing as he was a little smaller than the other guards, it just looked odd was all... Or well, that's what the King would have him believe. It wasn't even like Fjord had originally wanted to be a Knight! His parents owed the Crown debt and unfortunately, The Stone's didn't have a lot to give... Other than their only son. Still, he could fight and was honest and loyal, a perfect servant of the Royal family.

Today he wasn't being laughed at by the boys, on account of having been given the duty of escorting Princess lioriley to and from the Royal dressmakers to fetch her gown for the evening's ball, that and be her personal Guard for the event. Something Fjord hadn't really given much thought about, until now... Until he was waiting at her door to pick her up.

"M'lady, I have come at your behest." The Knight stands before the other, unaware of the reason for his arrival but merely hail'd by the King of Camelot to come upon this family House. They had called for Gawain of the Orkney Isles, and the Pendragon King - most likely having witts about him how to solve this summons. Opted to merely send his beloved nephew there all the same.

As it were none thought anything of it. Rather that, a neighboring family had called for the Royal Knight Gawain of House Lot to come upon their castle this evening. It was not often that the good royal Knight had been beckoned by other houses for private affairs - not unless they were angry with him. Having a change of pace in his summoning's was a welcoming delegation. That he presented himself most cordially to the court.

[Conleth here is about as romantic as a rock, but sort of fatherly platonic affection is likely if she's as single-mindedly determined to help people in AU as she is in canon. Hope you don't mind a bit of assumed CR? I can change anything, just shoot me a message.]

Like most things the Order owned, the full suit of medieval armor Conleth wore for their annual Ren Faire was designed to be functional. It allowed full freedom of movement and was light enough that he could easily mount and dismount the horses nearby. His sword was his usual blade, the deadly steel blade inlaid with silver that he used against the supernatural threats of the city when he wasn't playing the charismatic local leader of a reticent Catholic philanthropical society. He'd been in mock battles already today, and one or two of the other Knights almost got the better of him. Not yet, though, and with the time between bouts, he sought out a familiar face.

He'd met her a while back. She was his son's age or just a bit older, and her single-minded dedication to helping people earned her his respect and assistance where the Order's considerable wealth and influence could help things. She didn't know his mission, nor had he told her about the supernatural dangers that stalked the streets, but he'd silently appointed himself as much of her protector as she would allow.

When he found her, he tucked his metal helm under his arm and gave her a practiced bow. "My lady, would you mind the company of this humble knight while he rests from his trials?"

[You know what's fun? Not having to figure out a way to get a wounded and unconscious man at least one and a half times his size to safety without dropping him on his pretty, idiot head. At least the young von Aegir has a horse over which Therion could drape his dead weight. Now, with night fallen and the armies blessedly distant, with Ferdinand's injuries washed and bandaged as well as Therion can manage, with the horse happily tied to graze at the edge of this small, well-hidden clearing in these otherwise dense woods, Therion finally feels free to let out a breath.

What a mess.

He glances over at Ferdinand, the primary source of mess in Therion's recent circumstances, where he's laid out on a bedroll. If he didn't owe House Aegir his services...

Well, no. Somehow, looking at Ferdinand, Therion figures he'd somehow have ended up here anyway. He sighs.]
